Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Ashfield

Whent here as Greggs was dissapointing yesterday and way to busy for the staff to handle this morning. Handy Costa is here too. Upon entering It had few inside customers with most preferring the drive through of the 4 employees visible none greated me, in fact I was made to feel in the way as I looked at the choice of sandwichs 2 employees 1 after the other came round and grabbed items from the case. One thing I noticed was the prices are a good bit higher than other similiar offerings. After selecting my sandwhich that had to be heated and was wrapped in single use plastic again not greated finaly a employee aproached took the sandwich to heat no request if I wanted anything else I had to order my Gingerbread and Cream Latte to wich I was asked do I want a stronger roast for £0.25 extra. My heated sandwich was delivered now in a heat proof cardboard sleave (it should be noted that Greggs stores products to be heated in special paperbags and once heated serves in the same bag, eliminating the waste from extra packaging) once transaction was paid for no reciept offered or request for any app to scan and build points. Sandwhich was good though not good enough to support the higher price, coffee was ok and the gingerbread man on top of the lid was a nice touch but when eaten was stale.so if you want so so coffee with a steap price and a company who isnt as concerned as others with...

I used the drive through,I ordered my coffee but then I saw an offer for a toastie and coffee for £4, I asked about the offer and was told as I had a large coffee it would be 74p more so I opted for the toastie. I was asked would I like normal ham and cheese or Wiltshire but not told the Wiltshire ham option was an extra pound. When I drove around to the window to pay I was told it was £6.74, I questioned the price considering I was expecting it to be £4.74 and the bloke explained about the Wiltshire ham price and said the woman had made a mistake telling me it was only 74p more, he was not helpful at all insisting that the till was automated and he could not ammend the price. I went to use the Costa points I had to pay and he told me I couldn't pay using points as the coffee and toastie offer doesn't let him do it! I gave up in the end and went elsewhere as the service was shocking! I gave it two stars as it's a Costa and I'm sure that if I had taken a mortgage out to buy my coffee and toastie it probably would have...

A pleasant clean and tidy Costa. But it's quite new when I visited so you would hope so. From a personal point of view and why I've only given it three stars, I like my coffee shops to feel cosy and warm. This place is very expansive and when you look up from all the standard Costa wall coverings then it looks like what it is, an industrial unit. Very high roof line with all the cables and air con units on show. Perhaps they are yet to finish it, who knows. The door seems to have a mind of its own, constantly blowing open with the wind, so don't sit close to it. Some people may like the industrial look, but it's not for me.
