Finally a fish n chip shop that delivers the best quality of food and service at a great price. We tried the cod n chips and haddock n chips with curry sauce on the side. Fantastic flavor and cooked to perfection. The fish is so fresh and tasty, and the chips are cooked just right, welcoming staff with a very friendly service. Great value for money, will definitely make the Dolphin a must visit for great fish n chips.

Out of the choice of chip shops in the area we chose here. Decided to eat in so was asked to order in restaurant area which is slightly more expensive. Was busy and everyone seemed happy. Food was amazing curry sauce great chips great cod was great. My only grip was the cod was maybe a touch to oily but was still a great meal

Arrived in Barmouth just before lunch. After a short walk on the beach we decided to have fish and chips. Surely you can't get fresher than those from the seaside? You can if you use this place. I asked for two large haddock and chips and asked if the fish could be cooked from fresh. They said yes. I then watched them cook two small frozen portions. On a plus side it was hot but that's your lot. It tasted as though it was cooked in old oil. At least a third of the fish was like a schnitzel. It was a measly portion. The chips were very average. I had used this place based on the reviews. Maybe I caught them on a very bad day, though I suspect it was a pretty typical one. It sort of ruined the concept of lovely fresh fish and chips by the seaside. I personally...

Just bought Two large sausages and chips, what a load of rubbish, they all went in the local rubbish bin, the sausages were just oozing grease and the chips were all bits, when i say bits i mean the bottom of the tray was all the rubbish the other chip shops throw away, i'm not just writing this I will call in next thursday and see the owner in person, I didnt go straight back as it would cost more in time and petrol that the chips were worth, as I said will see the owner next week but will never buy there again, not to worry mister owner i don't want a refund i'm just telling it as it is, thats why I don't mind my name...

This place has been here for years & maybe complacency is the problem. I expected fresh, thick flakey cod (I'm at the seaside after all) but got small, skinny half fillets covered in chewy greasy batter. The chips weren't much better - greasy, hard & clumped solidly together. The pie was microwaved so ended up soggy & sunken. The team were pleasant & friendly but I pay for good food not good conversation. And it wasn't cheap - £4.00 for the cod alone. Small portions, high prices & poor quality. So based on that I can't recommend & I...
