The Mumbai Lounge — Restaurant in Barnsley

We used this place every weekend for takeaway and birthdays ..we booked a table for new years eve for 8.00 as soon as we walked in I noticed it was chaos as no food on tables and the room was absolutely packed we had a round of drinks couldn't pay as they were charged to the table .After 40 minutes and nobody moving or seeing any food we had enough. I went to the counter to pay for the drinks the waiter was rude and said no give me a min will get you a table . (I noticed on the bar the seating times they was still on the 5.45 ) the rest of our group had gone outside and low and behold the barman chased after them and was very aggressive and rude to the rest of us then came back in I told him I was trying to pay ....he then snatched the money from my hands and walked off .....I eventually got my change and said something in a different language..I said thankyou and left ...(yes I understand was clearly stressed and very busy and also understand a bit of waiting would be involved. ) there was people there for takeaway been waiting well over an hour and other customers in front of us ...Don't deserve to be treated like that and manners don't cost anything. The food is absolutely gorgeous and we have never had an issue . Sorry won't be...

Authentic Indian Cuisine at its Best!

I recently dined in at the Mumbai Lounge Barnsley and it was hands down one of the best takeaway experiences I've ever had. From the moment I placed my order, everything was seamless – the food arrived on time, piping hot, and the aroma that filled the room was absolutely mouth-watering.

Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors. The Jalfrazi chicken was perfectly with just the right amount of spice, and the Chicken Tikkia Masala was fragrant and cooked to perfection. The naan bread was fresh, soft, and the perfect accompaniment to the meal. You can tell that the ingredients were high quality and the care put into the preparation really showed.

Not only was the food exceptional, but the portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the meal. The staff was also incredibly polite and made sure everything was in order.

If you’re craving delicious, authentic Indian food, look no further. I’ll definitely be dining...

It was okay. The starter and curry was nice as was the pickle tray. The mixed fruit & cream/ice cream was disappointing, the former was a spoonful of tinned fruit with a drizzle of cream. The latter was a couple about a scoop of vanilla ice cream with strawberry sauce. The real let down was the service, the starters came out when it was ready not when you were so make sure you power through the poppadoms as they'll get taken from you when your starters are ready. I only had one drink as the waiters were so stand off-ish we could never actually flag them down and had to get up and find one to get the bill, which is cash only by the way which is only made apparent to you when you're there.

All in all Mumbai Lounge does the same job as a Wetherspoons, the food is cheap and does the job but is generally unimpressive. If you want a better experience go...
