Disappointed. Despite the food looking impressive it left a lot to be desired.
My vegetarian moussaka was cold in the middle. The manager replaced it & the second one was very hot all the way through. Unfortunately, as I imagine this dish cannot be made fresh to order the bechamel sauce had solidified much like a set custard & was gelatinous & a horrible consistency to eat. The dish was also quite salty & the accompanying rice with my dish & my friend’s meat dish was only luke warm. Service was non-existent. We waited ages to catch any staff’s attention. The manager who had replaced my first cold moussaka eventually came back & asked how everything was & I explained the above. She just said sorry & left.
She didn’t ask if we wanted anything else or the bill, just said sorry & left. The table next to us was also stuck waiting for service. They wanted to order hot drinks but were told none were available. I asked them if their food was warm & they said barely.
Between the 4 of us we tried to flag down staff so we could pay & leave. When one table caught the staff’s attention we put them onto the other table that was waiting as staff didn’t seem to show initiative to deal with any customers.
Our bill was not discounted in any way & we did not have a set member of staff looking after us from start to finish. Every interaction was with someone new so we didn’t feel looked after.
When the bill & card machine was brought the staff member did not ask if everything was okay. We paid for our meals, we did not pay tip as the service was terrible & we won’t visit again as the food was very disappointing. Despite appearing very busy as I believe the restaurant has recently opened I expect in time with the poor service & lukewarm congealed food it won’t be long before numbers dwindle.
To add to this there was a singer on the night we attended. Although he had a very good voice the volume was overly loud for a restaurant & my friend & I had to shout to each other...
Read moreWent here for double birthday celebration on 24/04, a Sunday, at around 1300 with a party of 9, 4 of whic were children . Service was wasn't the best but not particularly bad. Waiters were friendly but I'd say customer service was the expected minimum and the atmosphere was pretty flat. The restaurant was at about 15-20% capacity and seating was arranged for the waiters convenience rather than customer experience as there was enough room to not have to sit as closely with other guests but I'm sure there are reasons for justifying either way, just my own preference. Drinks were served shortly after arrival , my beer was served in a cracked glass and I was offered a replacement once spotted. The meal was great but the salad was wasted on so many plates around the restaurant from observation. A lot of unnecessary wastage. I had the mixed shish with fries as a side. Maybe a small rethink in the menu, ie. salad or ....... would be a good idea. The meat was beautiful and worthy of a higher price tag than your average kebab House. Dessert came out in a cracked dish..... After the glass being cracked and the chance of having two cracked items I'm sure a bit of quality control is needed as also the cutlery looked like it had done the rounds. Replenishing would enhance the customer experience. Scratched up table ware detracts from the food you serve beautifully presented on grey slate plates. Also more suitable children's tableware would be a good idea.
Not bad all round and a good choice if you're in the area but realistically a little over priced. Some improvements needed for sure but worth a go, I'm sure...
Read moreSadly, Utterly utterly poor customer service. Would have given this a 0..This started right from the door as my partner and I walked in to have a meal which we had already booked a table for. We were in at 9:35pm which made, I presume the ‘manager’ unhappy. He said ‘it’s late but let’s see if we can accommodate you.’ I asked about the closing time which he confirmed was 11pm but then he said ‘the kitchen is closed’ I then said if he wasn’t happy for us to be there, he should have told me not to bother booking a table. He then said, angrily ,‘look, it’s late but I will ask the kitchen to see if it’s possible to make something for you’ He and the waiters appeared less pleased and somewhat uninterested in our presence. They then presented us, without courteousness, the ‘bread and watery dips’. Now I’ve been to quite a few Turkish restaurants in my time and I’ll bet you my last buck I know what the bread should look like! They served us very thin flimsy dry looking sliced wraps. In frustration, I beckoned to the manager and asked why we we’re presented with such service and starter that was no where up to par! He then realised at that moment, their actions and service so far was far from expected levels. He offered us a discount off the meal. At this point, I felt very embarrassed and uncomfortable being there, I asked for the food to be packed up as we didn’t feel welcome there… This is the reason some businesses fail… extreme poor customer service. I will never again dine there and I will ensure friends, family and acquaintances are aware of your inadequate and...
