Deniz Restaurant — Restaurant in Basildon

I recently dined here because it was all that I could go to at that point in time. clearly my desperation resulted in my demise. My experience was incredibly disappointing and frustrating.

First and foremost, the service was abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and were slow to attend to our table. We had to repeatedly flag down waiters just to get basic requests fulfilled, and they appeared annoyed when we did so.

The food was a letdown as well. The kebabs we ordered were overcooked and dry, lacking the juicy tenderness that is characteristic of authentic Turkish cuisine. The portion sizes were small for the exorbitant prices we paid, and the taste was mediocre at best. We were also served stale bread that tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. I believe there were hairs in my friends sauce that really put us off.

Furthermore, the restaurant's ambiance was far from pleasant. The seating was uncomfortable. The restaurant lacked proper ventilation, leaving us feeling suffocated by the heavy smell of greasy food.

To add insult to injury, when we brought up our concerns with the manager, they were dismissive and unapologetic. He was very rude and showed no interest in addressing our complaints or making amends for the subpar experience we had.

In conclusion, I would not recommend going here to anyone seeking an authentic Turkish dining experience. The service was terrible, the food was disappointing, and the overall ambiance was unpleasant. Save your money and go elsewhere for a truly enjoyable Turkish...

I really wanted to like this place. Took a risk by bringing family visiting us from far away, purely based on the amazing reviews as we had never been here before.

All 3 adults ordered a mix doner kebab and to our surprise, we were each severed a plate of dry lamb and chicken pieces but with no sauce... When my husband asked if they had burger sauce to put on top of the meat, they replied they only have ketchup to put on top..of a kebab? Unheard of.

I then asked our waiter if they had some sort of garlic sauce for us to put on top of the meat as it was extremely dry. I was told that we should use the small pot of garlic that came with the bread before the meal came (that was basically finished). When I asked if he expected 3 adults to dig out what was left he replied yes. He then proceeded to inform me that we can buy more of the garlic sauce if we wanted.

He then had to nerve to come back ten mins later to ask if we wanted the sauce. I asked if we needed to pay for him to respond yes. I laughed and replied no.

Please don't waste your time and come to this restaurant unless you are bringing your own sauce. I will...

I've been ordering from this restaurant for months. The food is nice but there have been 3 mishaps in a row. So, unfortunately we will take our custom to the other local Turkish. Issues have been as follows; We was sent the wrong order, telephone and was advised they would send a new one out. This took another hour. Ordered and unfortunately it was delivered to wrong address, telephoned and waited another hour. We was sent half an order. We telephoned 3 times over an hour period, spoke to someone different each time and had to explain the issues repeatedly. Each time told the rest of the order was on its way. The order never came.

It was lovely while it lasted...
