Went to jade palace on Thursday night for a Christmas party! There was a power cut and so the speakers were not working for most of the night.
All you can eat buffet??? When we questioned the quantity of starters for 13 of us we were told, 'no that's it each plate serves 4'.
We then waited for an hour for the main food to come out and when it did arrive it was cold and served on cold plates, the beef dish was very sparse on beef and the mushrooms were raw. The sweet n sour chicken had no chicken at all!!!!! 2 side plates of noodles for 13 of us!
Within half hour of eating, 2 ladies had to rush to the toilet to be ill!!!!
We then called the manager/owner over and explained all this and said how very disappointed we were, all he said was 'ah yeah, I'm sorry'. He then offered our party drinks on the house, unfortunately I had to leave as our driver was trying not to poop herself so we left the rest of the party there to enjoy the free drink!!!
We were not the only party disappointed with the evening either, I have been going to jade palace for over 10 years and always had fab food, fab service and a fab time, unfortunately this visit was so bad I will never return!!!! All I can say is the drive was like the scene from...
Read moreWalking into the restaurant, it's very dark but you soon get acclimatised. Initially given menus with no prices - ? We had to ask. The buffet menu. £25 pp. We had to ask for the alternative. Maybe that's just certain days. But. We then got what seemed to be the same menu but individually priced. Up to you. How much are you going to eat? There was some confusion regarding the 'Rainbow bean curd soup'. Still on the menu but apparently not available. I ordered the Beancurd with Chinese Vegetables, but specifically no carrots or baby corn (they're not chinese veg anyway, but you have to check!). It was great but there was no leafy chinese veg (choi sum etc) which was a shame, but still really tasty, and some chilli oil gave the boiled rice a kick. But obvs that's my personal choice Oh how I wish restaurants would offer wholegrain/red/green/black rice as an alternative to white rice!! Also the meat eaters loved their choices especially the black bean sauce. Lovely restaurant, lovely food. Maybe a...

One waitress asks if we need anything or are ready for next courses etc or drinks, and as soon as they walked away from the table another one came and asked the same thing. I wouldn't have mentioned it but it was literally less than 10 seconds between the 2 😂
A few more customers and that would probably not be an issue, I didn't let it spoil the night but it was a teeny bit...
