Rose Cafe — Restaurant in Basildon

I ordered the chicken burger plain, and the waiter said with chips. I said yes, but the chicken burger is £3.80 and that's not including the chips. The food was horrible I genially feel sick the chicken burger was tiny and the chicken was like wood on the outside, I took 1 bite and started coffing the buns where like saw dust when you bite into it I couldn't bring myself to finish it when I got the bill I was shocked at the price I asked for a receipt and got just the amount that was payed not what cost what it was an horrible experience an the seats make me feel squashed I was overcharged and started saying that the tea included with the meal wasn't included I couldn't be bothered to argue over it and payed we did work out the total as £26.10 but they said it was £30.30. Went to Rose cafe for lunch with my daughter, we were asked what we would like to drink. My daughter ordered a can of drink and I asked for a tap water. The waiter didn't come across as very friendly and didn't look at all happy with my request of a glass of tap water. We then ordered a panini and a cooked breakfast which included a cup of tea. Our food was served but no cup of tea. On paying for our meal I did mention that we hadn't received the cup of tea and the response I got was oh okay. There was no apology or offer of a tea to take away. It didn't feel a friendly atmosphere and we will not be returning...

Just been in to the cafe, I asked for a omelette with toast ( the omelette comes with chips and beans) I had asked if it was the same price without the chips and beans they said it was so I went for toast, both came up so at the end of the meal I explained that I had changed my mind earlier . They wouldn’t except this and charged me the full price plus the price of toast.
