Disclosure: I GM two groups at The Leaky Teacup LTD, while I am not an employee of this fine establishment, I certainly do have a bias towards it and it's proprietor.
Food: I was tempted to give this 3 stars, simply because I have grown accustomed to the meals that are served here. However, I have recently discovered the chilli cheese bites that have rekindled my love of the food served here. The menu itself is fairly limited in terms of savoury food, however the food that is served is well worth the price snd more. That's not to mention the wide variety of scrumptious cakes on offer that cycle irregularly throughout the week. That is to say, if you want a certain cake, get it before it's gone.
Service: As there are very few employees at this location, and given the layout if the building, it is entirely understandable that the speed of service is slightly slower than one woukd like. That being said, I have always received my order with a smile. My hot food comes hot, and my cold food comes cold.
Atmosphere: Nothing bad can be saud about the atmosphere. The upstairs RPG rooms are perfect for hosting game nights and small birthday party events. (I myself have had the pressure of experiencing three birthdays here) The main floor contains many tables so sit either I'm a large group or alone. And the shelves of this floor are well stocked with board games free to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNipped in here after noticing the sign on a walk through town. WOW! What an absolute gem, we came away with a selection box of gluten free goodies and a hot, gluten free, sweet chilli sausage roll (which was absolutely amazing). The owner was super friendly and accommodating, he gave us a rundown of what they had, told us about their huge amount of tea flavours, hot chocolates and cakes (The cheesecake mugs also sounded mega). Sounds like once this place is back open after covid restrictions are open that they'll be doing a few themed nights: quizzes, boardgames, moots, which all sounded fun and interesting.
Definitely recommend giving this place a visit during lockdown restrictions for some cake or coffee (even if you're not gluten free, the sausage rolls taste just as good, if not better, than other local places that have been around for years). Sounds like it's going to be even better post lockdown and will definitely be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been going here regularly for a few years now. The food here is fantastic. I usually have the hunters chicken paninis or the pizza. Then, I follow up with a piece of cheesecake. The cheesecake is what the shop is known for, and they usually experiment with different flavours. The best one I've had has to have been the cinnamon biscuit one. The atmosphere and service are great. While AJ can sometimes get run ragged with the shop being only a 1 or 2 man show usually, he always keeps in good spirits and tries to talk to who he can. The other regulars are also what makes this place special. Making friends whilst playing board games, card games, or just chatting to them on some of the quieter days.
I just wish they'd get a new waffle maker...
