Rooms At The Inn Retford — Hotel in Bassetlaw

I was oblivious that RATI had won a prestigious TV award when I booked. Only at the moment of leaving, I spotted a framed picture of the owners with the award winning "Four in a bed"! The owner and staff were exceptionally helpful. Great location with a brilliant Baytree bistro opposite for delicious breakfasts. Booked into a deluxe double room- excellent value. Offered all things and more ( fridge, biscuits - makes the cuppa!). It was modern, very clean, tastefully decorated, wonderfully comfortable bed, very good pillows ( for one with neck problems). Slept very well - for outside music/noise, I always use ear plugs - no further disturbance! Free parking - great bonus. Exceptional, a gem! Highly recommended. Belated congratulations on winning "Four in a bed" ! Well deserved! So looking forward to returning...

We stayed for two nights Friday and Saturday whilst attending The Stone Valley festival. When we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome and given our fob and key to get into the hotel. The stairs are a bit steep so if there are accessible rooms make sure you book one. The room was very clean but just a bit warm, I’m glad we are not staying there this week as we wouldn’t have coped. The bathroom was spotless but the pressure on the shower was not brilliant. The room was good but just a couple of very small things, the remote control wasn’t great as the back kept falling off and my side lamp was not working, not the end of the world. Great location in the centre of Retford, the room I had was a bit on the small side but had everything it needed and a Juliette balcony, there is a mini fridge in the room to keep things in but it does hum and may disturb your sleep if you don't realise it can be switched off.

Check in and out are a bit different as you get the key from the pub next door at which time you need to give credit or debit card details on a piece of paper, which didn't feel great in terms of the safety of my card details to be honest.

A few points to be aware of, they are a '4 in a bed' winner (UK channel 4 tv show) they don't serve breakfast anymore (but did on the show) and some of the rooms are above the pub so could be noisy for some. Overall a good place to stay and...
