The Gate Inn — Restaurant in Bassetlaw

Wow where do i start with this 5* review. On the 16th Of July me and my husband got married with our venue being at the Gate inn Ordsall. We approached Cathy, 2 years ago to secure our date and have been in talks for the past year to ensure our day was absolutely perfect. My oh my was it. We expressed our feelings about our wedding to Cathy on what we was wanting for the big day and she went above and beyond. The Catering was absolutely spot on, even our fussy eaters in the family were telling us how much they enjoyed all the food for the day and night time. All our guests were looked after all day and night by Cathy and her amazing team of hard workers. Thank you all for everything you did to make our day outstanding. Would like to thank Mudfords for doing an amazing job with the marquee. Mandy Palmer for doing the best buffet I’ve ever seen. Russ Brett for the great job of entertaining my guests plus family and Cathy at the Gate and her amazing bar staff who made sure everything ran smooth I had an amazing birthday and if I was to have another function I certainly would use The Gate again. Sadly they weren't doing food so I'm unable to comment on that. This has to be one of the friendliest pubs I've stopped at. They allowed me to park overnight in the car park. The staff were great and the locals were really friendly! Lovely wine served, great atmosphere and conversation. Child friendly up until 8pm but then children have to be out.
