Al Uruba Cafe & Restaurant — Restaurant in Birmingham

I really didn't want to write this review but I think it's needed especially for the owners to reflect upon. I bought my breakfast at 6am and lunch at at 11am 6 days a week so I never had to deal with the evening staff. Unfortunately I brought my wife here on a Friday and it was not a pleasant experience at all.

I ordered food for us and there was a Yemeni family on the next table, from the beginning the manager made one of the workers cleaned the table and had him bring lentils and soups for the Yemeni family. The manager specifically asked the worker to bring them water and put a plastic sheet on their table. My table was dirty with food still there and I was waiting for them come clean it. When I asked for the table to be cleaned the manager handed me a blue tissue roll. I still ignored it and I didn't want to create a scene as i wanted to have a nice time with my wife and I'd already ordered the food.

The manager personally brings the food to the Yemeni family asking them if they need anything to jusf call. 20 mins past now im wondering where is our food as the other family are halfway through their food. I asked the staff where is the food and I was told it's at the front waiting for me, the manager at till expected me to take the food, my friend ismail works there saw me and brought the food to my over the till and the manager told him to hand me the food and serve someone else. The food was not even hot anymore while they left it waiting for me.

Throughout the whole period the manager was constantly catering to the Yemeni family by offering them complimentary adani tea and coffee, deserts and he also packed them a cake to take and told them to take for the kids. I speak perfect Arabic I understood exactly what he was saying to them.

I could have walked out but I really didn't want to spoil the evening for my wife.

This is a racist restaurant and you have lost a regular customer, I will do my best to not recommend you to anyone...

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was a 3 out of 10, and the service was shockingly bad. The server, who seemed like he was sleepwalking, deserved a minus 1 at best. They missed one of our orders, and when the other three finally arrived, they were all incorrect.

When we pointed out that one chicken chunks with rice was missing, the server brought out a completely random dish. To make matters worse, when we finished, he charged us the full price despite our mixed grill order missing 2 wings, rice, and naan. I tried to show him the menu, but he refused to read it, even though it was right there in person.

To add to the chaos, we weren't the only ones dissatisfied. Another customer was complaining before us, and one after us. It felt like a never-ending conveyor belt of unhappy customers. This experience was a total disaster, and I would strongly advise against...

I ordered from this restaurant for the first time, and I regret every bit of it. I used [ delivery app] to place my order, and it was nothing but trouble. First off, the pizzas were supposed to be large, but when they arrived, they were small – a clear mismatch from what was advertised. To make matters worse, both pizzas were cold and burnt beyond saving. It was like chewing on a piece of cardboard, and we couldn’t even eat them. I paid £27 for these two pizzas, and it feels like money thrown down the drain. The quality was appalling, and it’s hard to believe any restaurant would send out such food. The app itself wasn’t much help either – no proper way to complain or get immediate support. I will never order from this place again. An absolute waste of...
