For a 'peace loving' & 'inclusive' mosque that makes some very large claims for itself in terms of having mutual respect for all genders and people of all faiths I am appalled at the aggressive, intolerant behaviour and attitudes of their funeral services team. The intolerance and hostility they display towards female guests in particular - which include those of all ages, races, backgrounds (and including those with disabilities!) is extreme and irrepressible in my opinion - this for them I believe is a very dark stain on it's already rapidly crumbling reputation - they really need to do better! BCM unfortunately I feel is at the border of being declared a failed institution and shockingly displays no desire to improve itself other than the odd publicity stunts they perform with the likes of West Midlands Police, Fire Services etc. Their attempts to show their 'brotherly compassion' towards Christians and their beautiful and welcoming Churches and Cathedrals and those of the Jewish faith and their stunning and homely Synagogues is becoming more obvious that these are nothing more than publicity stunts and photo-opportunities. I am not of the Sikh or Hindu faith and yet the warmth and compassion I have always experienced from them in their places of worship has always been so heart-warming and I love helping engage myself and my 13 year old son with their 'langar' services. I am a single parent of a Muslim background, but I teach my son more about the Sikh doctrine as we have received nothing but compassion from them (in stark contrast to the aggression of the likes of this Mosque). Myself, my team as well as partners will be escalating these matters with BCM and wish all those that continue to attend and engage in their services all the very best - but please be aware and always maintain a stance that you will 'stand your ground' without fear to call out extreme inappropriate behaviour should you experience...

I used to rate this masjid because they stuck to the hadith of using local moon sighting to determine each new Islamic month but this year for Eid ul Fitr, that went out of the window. When I called to try and ascertain what was going on, I was asked to call back after maghrib only to constantly get the answering machine which admittedly, is a vast improvement from the last time I called when all the phone did, was to ring out. In fact, other than their old website, their comms are really poor and they were super unsupportive when my father passed away. Now, you can't download a PDF of the current month's timetable or even view the whole timetable, they just have prayer timings for the current day which is all well and good, until it comes to trying to set your alarm for fajr the next day. However today as in now, I can't even see that because the stupid website won't even open. I'm also increasingly worried about the amount of innovation that has crept into this masjid's actions such as holding vigils or having condolence books. All in all, I am disappointed with this mosque and seriously reconsidering whether to identify this as my local mosque and therefore, the one I follow for...

I recently visited Birmingham Central Mosque and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and I was able to participate in a guided tour of the mosque which was both informative and interesting. The mosque itself is absolutely stunning, with beautiful architecture and intricate details throughout. It's clear that a lot of care and attention has been put into the design and upkeep of the building. During my visit, I also had the opportunity to attend a prayer service and was struck by the sense of community and inclusivity that was present. It was clear that the mosque is a central hub for the local Muslim community, and I felt privileged to be able to witness this firsthand. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to Birmingham Central Mosque to anyone interested in learning more about Islam or simply wanting to appreciate the beauty of this important cultural landmark. The staff are fantastic, the building is breathtaking, and the sense of community is truly inspiring.

Birmingham Central Mosque is a beautiful, spacious, and well-maintained place of worship. The mosque is very clean and offers separate prayer areas for men and women, ensuring comfort and privacy for all worshippers. The wudu (ablution) area is also large and well-equipped, making it convenient even during busy times. One of the major advantages is the ample parking space, so there's rarely any issue finding a spot. The prayer hall is big enough to accommodate a large number of people, especially during Friday prayers and special occasions. This mosque plays a significant role in the lives of Muslims in the community, providing not just a place to pray but also a center for learning and unity. If I had to rate it, I would definitely give it 5 stars
