Nice pub , welcoming and friendly staff and the rooms are small but clean and comfortable and good value for money fur somewhere to get your head down for a night while visiting Birmingham . Ok so the surrounding area is a bit rough and ready and you may get woken up by the sound of revving engines and screeching tyres but hey it’s in a very urban area which is undergoing considerable development . You probably wouldn’t book in for a week and given the proximity of the beds in the twin rooms you have to be comfortable with spending a night with whoever is sleeping in the other bed . The 10 a.m. checkout time was unreasonably early, and our room even had a fist-sized hole in the wall left by a previous guest. The only positive was that the owner and staff were friendly at check-in, but overall, we wouldn’t...
