I popped into The Golden Hind for lunch while I was working in the area, and Iāve got to say, it was spot on. From the minute I walked in, I was made to feel really welcome by the lovely lady behind the bar. She took my order and told me to grab a seat, then even brought my Pepsi over (I was working, so no booze this time!).
I was starving and in a bit of a rush, so I went for the chicken curry, and wowāwhat a choice. Honestly, it was one of the best curries Iāve ever had. It came out steaming hot and was absolutely delicious.
The pub itself felt really homely, with Christmas music playing in the background at just the right volumeānot too loud. The locals were great too, really friendly and had a quick chat with me, which was nice. The lady from behind the bar even came over to check if everything was alright with my food and made sure to say goodbye as I left.
This was my first time here, and I wish I lived closer (Iām over 80 miles away), but if Iām ever back in the area, Iāll definitely be coming back. A proper little...

The food was absolutely delicious. Huge compliments to Chef Owen who cooked a truly top-tier Sunday roast ā everything from the tender meats to the perfectly roasted veg and creamy mash was spot on. The portion sizes were generous, and every bite was full of flavour.
Lacy brought the food out with a big smile and outstanding customer service skills. She was attentive, warm, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal.
All the staff I encountered were friendly, polite, and genuinely seemed to care about creating a welcoming experience. The pub itself has a great atmosphere ā cozy, clean, and perfect for a relaxing meal.

My steak was well seasoned and cooked to perfection, I decided to add peppercorn sauce to my Philly Cheese Steak Baguette and Owen had offered the option to have my sauce mixed and melted with my cheese sauce and so glad I trusted him cuz it tastes fantastic! I also mentioned I hate nothing more than a dry side salad and he went to extra mile to personally make me a dressing for it.
