Paprika Longbridge — Restaurant in Birmingham

I am afraid this is a negative post about the customer service I recieved tonight from paprika longbridge. I have been a customer of theirs for a while and have never had a bad experience, that was until tonight. I ate in, the meal wasn't great but didn't feel justified to complain as I had something i different. I also ordered a chicken tikka masala for take out for my sons gf. Now as soon as the carton was opened the first thing that was noticed was the appearance, it was like no other chicken tikka I have had before, especially from paprika. The taste was something I didn't expect when I was asked to try it.. It was overwhelmingly sweet, something like eating pure sugar syrup.

However, you cannot expect perfect everytime...but bad customer service is never acceptable...We called up and explained our issue which led to the phone being put down. So we decided to take the food back to them. The manager shouted in front of the customers that I always complain as if to discredit my complaint and told me never to come back - this is literally my first ever complaint so to be spoke to in this way is totally unacceptable. He then angrily told me he would refund me but after the way I was treated I just told him I didn't want it as I just wanted to get out of the situation Im a polite person and was dealt with in the most awful way. Edit 4 years on from original review (Jan 2022) Still our absolute favourite curry house in the area!! We're still regular customers. Love the fact that we get such great service every time, all the staff are always really friendly and polite and the food is always delicious. Their takeaway is always good but dining in is a real treat because of the staffs service levels - they have recently had a refurb too and so the restaurant is looking lovely and fresh with a very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Can't fault them. Original review (2017) The best Indian restaurant we've ever tried and it has been that way for years. Our favourite place to eat out. Not only is the food delicious but the staff and service is amazing and even when the restaurant is busy they still manage to make you feel like you're getting preferential treatment. Dear Paprika,

I ordered some food on 26th December and wanted to share my feedback. The two lamb balti dishes were entirely lacking in flavour, as though they were made with just the base curry sauce and no additional spices or cooking to turn them into a proper balti. This was quite disappointing, as it felt like no effort was put into creating the dish.

I also ordered two mixed grills, which were served in a single container. This made them difficult to separate without creating a mess, and on top of that, the sheesh kebabs were severely overcooked—so much so that they were inedible.

The tandoori chicken main was alright, but it was cold, which was unexpected given I collected the food myself and it should have been piping hot unless it wasn’t freshly prepared.
