Trine Beans Cafe — Restaurant in Birmingham

For STARTERS ,Not even worth a 1 star!! furious to say the least. The baked potatoes were stone cold. i paid for extra cheese for one of them and there was only a few measly gratings of cheese. and i mean a few.....There wasn't even any that melted. BLANDEST BAKED POTATO EVER!!!! Moving on to the side salad... The romain lettuce was ... wait for it.... INFESTED WITH BUGS.. to be precise APHIDS. Green AND black aphids... BIG ones. i feel sick to my stomach just thinking about it. I have a right to be angry and complain by giving feedback by telling her to wash fruit and veg properly.The response i got was a very SARCASTIC tone , and i mean sarcastic tone, saying “ i don't know what you want me to do about it and i wash the lettuce myself.” I am flabbergasted. If you are looking to get your regular milk tea... Asian/ Sub continent ... Mistake... Huge Mistake! Asked the guy at the counter if he knew what we were looking for, said yeah that's our best selling. Asked if we can have a trial sample and he said, Oh we make fresh, soo... indicating nothing happening, take it or leave it. In good faith ordered 4 cups, paid and took chairs. Served... first look, pale coloured, hardly any colour and runny like made from skimmed milk, whiff of spice... cinnamon... clearly not a desi milk tea spice. 2 of us didn't touch the cup. Usually it’s lovely in there , two of the ladies always let me in to use the bathroom and stated you don’t have to ask. Today I had the unfortunate experience of meeting I don’t even know who I’ve never saw her face there, she was having a conversation with a customer so i understandably didn’t want to interrupt. As normal I made my way to the bathroom when she asked if I was okay , to which I said yes - not thinking there would be an issue and she decided to then make a comment that ‘it’s polite to ask you know’. I work in hospitality myself and can’t think of a single time I decided to speak to a customer like that.
