The Café at Stoney Stanton — Restaurant in Blaby

I called the café on short notice and a table was booked for me quickly and efficiently, however that was about as good as the service got. I was advised over the phone that the reservation would be for sofa seating which I had no problem with, but the coupled table was a coffee table that sat even lower, meaning to eat food you either had to put the plate on your lap or sit horribly hunched over for the duration of your meal. We requested item swaps on our breakfasts that were completely forgotten about, and despite this being quickly resolved the food was not great and nothing better than what you could cook at home if you had the ingredients. The drinks were also completely forgotten about and required a reminder to the waiter AFTER our food had arrived. Pricing was average and I always like to support local businesses where I can, however for the poor experience and quality of food I can see why people would rather go to places like Wetherspoons. An excellent local village cafe with a very homely friendly feel. There is a good menu choice with varied and unique coffee specials. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Update Aug '24 Very recently ordered a take away breakie, superbly packaged and super tasty. You can also be tempted by the sweet counter!! You can book to have functions at the cafe and they often cater for different community groups to have a social gathering. At the time of writing the staff were busy preparing for local village groups which is why the opening times are not late afternoon to cater for private functions. They are also starting to do themed meal evenings, but booking early is essential due to the limited spaces. There is a good menu selection for breakfast and lunch, takeaway or order and pick up. The best by far i ever had & filled me up for a good few hours about 5hrs then only had something small but very filling and highly recommended cafe defo worth the visit especially with there being a bookable bus fox-connect.

Pot of tea 🍵 £2.60 very reasonable price as you get 3 cups of tea out of £2.60 so that's £0.86p a cup of tea 🍵
