Been here a few times but found my most recent visit a terrible experience. I was with 2 friends and decided to go for an afternoon drink on Sunday afternoon.. having been in the pub for over an hour little did we know we were sat in a corner where a group of regulars sit!! We were rudely asked to move because we were in 'Barbaras' seat!! Whose Barbara? Does she have her seat saved? We questioned this with the barman who decided to stick up for Barbara's crew and started to give us attitude. I would not dream of moving anyone out of a seat when I go into my local. It's a shame because it really is a nice pub. Shame on...
Read moreGood traditional street corner boozer away from the town centre. It’s owned by bank top brewery so serves extensive range of the local breweries ales. I’m not sure how many are revolving guests but if bank top brew it they surely sell it. I had a pavilion pale and a flat cap, both very nice. Has a bar room and a back room (with dart board)also has an extensive sheltered and heated patio area. No riff raff so no nonsense tolerated. Friendly chatty locals and nice bar staff....

Mild, dark, copper, red, golden, amber beers; the best traditional range you can expect anywhere. We seek these beers out whenever available locally at home or visiting family!
