Unfortunately our food experience wasn't the best on our first vist! Ordered the beef oinion butty an a cheese an tuna toaste with two drinks cost £28!! Wich was a bit of a rip of for what we received - both sandwiches were nothing more that what ya could get at a grease spoon! No fills very basic an quite disappointing 😕 honestly could made better at home! On raising concerns too the manager she rely didnt want know with an attitude of ya get what ya get!! What did ya expect - well something a bit more for nearly £10 butty.
Would give this place another go but would try the fish an chips next time as this is what the place Is known for!! Browing over other tables it did look good what other customers were receiving, should gone for...
Read moreVisit today was poor. the lady on the till needs to learn how to engage with customers better. When I ordered food she asked my drinks option and I said original coke please, she replied "what" with a confused look, I said "original coke please", again she looked at me like I had multiple heads and spoke foreign, I repeated again original coke, not coke zero or diet coke, original coke please... the penny finally dropped, and she said oh alright yeah. When she finally brought it to the table her comment was, here's the receipt to prove you didn't pay for it, it clicked with me you asked for a drink and I forgot, but here it is and proceeded to slap the receipt on the table and said square at me, pay for it on your way out! No please, thank you, sorry etc! When I tasted it, it was clearly diet or zero, I got up and politely asked, her reply was "well I'm not being funny, I pressed coke, that's not my problem." I suggested maybe the syrup might have gone and another staff lady that overheard intervened and took over, she was lovely and sorted the problem, she commented to me "sorry" and when I approached about the full incident she said "yeah, this is just what she does". Not acceptable really! Anyway food was mediocre, fish was very very greasy, chips overdone and my mums senior meal didn't come with the bread and butter, even...
Read moreThis review relates to the coffee and ice cream part of the establishment only.
The premises is located next to a small reservoir with outside seating available, which promises to provide a pleasant view in clement weather. parking is free however there is a single track approach road with large potholes so caution is required to avoid damage to a car, this will be a particular issue in the dark.
The coffee was of a above average quality and by itself would have ranked a 4 star rating. 2 ice creams and 2 lattes cost around £10 however portion sizes were below average.
The establishment has a separate area for ice cream with coffee being available in a cafe area. Toilets were available but we did not have chance to use them so can’t comment on the hygiene standards.
Unfortunately we found the waiting period for the coffee to be excessive compared to the local competition. We also noticed that mask wearing was non existent among the staff and the area was very crowded. Based on our observations ventilation appeared less than optimal for the population density, making the venue a likely covid hot spot. We would recommend avoiding the venue during peak times and ensuring you wear a ffp level 2 mask...
