Chicken Not halal according to our investigation as of now. We were given a certificate of halal by chicken supplier (Jamal foods: picture of certificate is online). However when we contacted Jamal foods (their supplier) and personally spoke to them they said that the chicken was infact non stunned (which is what we want) , but MECHANICAL SLAUGHTER via a machine. Bismillah only said when machine switched on (and this was done in batches?). The owner of Jamal foods spoke very respectfully and nicely and was convinced that mechanical slaughter is allowed for the chicken to be halal. We are aware that some ulema allow this but the mainstream and majority view for halal, is that a muslim man slaughter the meat directly with his/her hands, with bismillah read on each animal individually (indirect via machine is not allowed). Maybe it's an oversight of the owners, or they didn't know as such. I hope that they can rectify the issue so that more people can access their food. We have absolutely no evil intent to ruin someone's new business, and we wish all the best to any of our brothers opening halal food outlets. However their needs to be some awareness by owners of their halal supply chain, and also to know what halal actually is according to the majority of...
Read moreThis was, without question, one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The chicken was slimy, undercooked in texture, and completely devoid of flavour. The Adana, which should have been rich and well-seasoned, was instead bland, dry, and utterly forgettable. For the inflated prices being charged, the quality was nothing short of disgraceful. The sides were no better. The fries arrived soggy and cheap-tasting, and the bread was so thick, heavy, and poorly made that it was almost impossible to eat without choking. Far from being fresh or authentic, the entire meal felt careless, rushed, and of the lowest standard. To make matters worse, the food actually left me feeling unwell afterwards â a lasting reminder of just how poorly prepared it was. This is not simply a case of mediocre cooking; it was a truly unpleasant and borderline unacceptable experience. I will never return, and I would strongly advise anyone considering this restaurant to look elsewhere. There are far better Turkish establishments that actually respect their craft â this one is an insult to...

I recently visited Mevlana, and I have to say, itâs an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the dĂ©cor catches your eye. It's beautifully done with stunning Turkish accents and a warm, welcoming vibe. The intricate lighting and cosy seating make it the perfect place for a relaxed meal or a special night out.
I started with some fresh bread and hummus, and it was delicious, simple but packed with flavour. Exactly how it is meant to be.
We got the platter for 4, and honestly the 5 of us couldn't finish it, it was a really healthy portion for at least 6 people.
The star for me was the baklava, hands down. Perfectly crispy layers with a sweet pistachio filling, served with ice cream on the side, it was an absolute treat.
The staff were super friendly and attentive, and they really made the whole experience even better. I canât wait to go back and try more dishes from the menu.
