Really disappointed, had been looking forward to this based on all the vids & reviews. We had travelled from coventry & gloucster a party of 20. Arrived at 7.30pm and ordered mixture of bugers/pizza/curries and mixed grill. Burgers and pizza on time kids happy. But the rest of the order was a shamble. Only 1 lamb curry given when we had ordered 2? No papadoms given as part of the meal deal? Mix grill not what I had expected with chunks of donner and the same seasoning/sauce on all the meats, and at 10pm still waiting for 2 chicken curries and a chicken sharwama? When asked about the food, delay, the response was short of staff and the restaurant is busy. Shame as our experience has been poor. I would recommend focusing on a smaller menu and taking greater care of customer service to avoid long waiting times and missing items. I believe Siraj bai is a genuine nice guy and recognises service on this occasion was not upto standard. This is not a criticism or intention to bad mouth the establishment but just a honest review and constructive feedback for the better of...
Read moreTiny little place which is half kebab shop half home made curries but the food is absolutely amazing! My partner and I stopped here on the way back from a holiday in the Lake District after seeing a funny video by the owner about his amazing dishes. The guy who served us was the owners brother and he was extremely friendly and bent over backwards to make us feel welcome. We ordered lamb curry and chicken curry, he also gave us salad, two amazing home-made chutneys and poppadoms, he also gave us a bottle of water (all an unexpected lovely surprise) We ordered chapatti and rice to eat with the curries and the chapattis were handmade while we waited and tasted great. The rice was fluffy and tasty and obviously freshly cooked. The curries themselves tasted just how home cooked curries should taste. The balance of salt and spices were spot on and they tasted freshly cooked and quite frankly they were delicious! We will definitely go back again if we are ever near Preston and would highly recommend you give the...

Took a risk & discovered a true hidden gem, standing room only, obscenely stuffed with dinners waiting to be treated & teased. Chef went on the offensive with tiny, life-affirming bullets of batayrah. Then followed with a slab of Sea-bass that was deftly aromatised with spring onions and sapphire.
His Lamb on the Bone was seared expertly and casually exploding with freshness, but what really sold me was the rest of the plate – small florets of flash-charred coriander.
He went on to have possibly the most dramatic dish: Nihari that had been salt-baked in a very fancy salt-coffin, resulting in a beautiful texture, melting but firm, slick, not stringy which in my opinion makes it the best i've ever tasted anywhere in this country.
His variety of dishes forces you not just to enjoy it, but to confront how good it is!
The real deal...
