The Drop Inn — Restaurant in Bolton

I was disappointed to arrive and discover that they no longer offer the vegan menu that is still on their website. The menu has been 'relaunched' and sadly is very basic in terms of vegan options (soup, sandwich, burger or salad). Thankfully they did still do the vegan afternoon tea which I had and was good. The service was very slow, even for drinks, and the staff were not proactive - we had to ask for cutlery and go to the bar to request the bill.

I would only go back for the afternoon tea and will probably see what is available elsewhere first based on...

8:15 arrival - main course arrived 9:35pm

We ordered 3 x fillet steak (2 with lobster side)

There was 1 fillet left so we had to swap for rib eye

The lobster side was dry and £39 for the half lobster seemed pricey.

Total price was £67 for lobster and rib eye steak per head - and it wasn’t very good.

We were told it was a busy bank holiday weekend - I’d be ok with that if it was Wetherspoons, but it’s not, it’s an ‘exclusive’ hotel restaurant grill and if I’m honest - had better steaks from the aforementioned Wetherspoons I’m...

Just returned home from a week here. As a first time solo traveller was a bit nervous. What a lovely place! I felt at ease immediately thanks to Aiden, Jane and Caitlin at the Drop inn. Service and food was impeccable (thank you Jane .. the chef). Rooms clean, nice and relaxed atmosphere whereever you go. Sadly the infinity pool was having renovations however the main pool and saunas (5 different ones were still open. Would i recommend? 100% i would and i for one will certainly be returning.
