Flag Inn — Restaurant in Bolton

This is a pub. With good, hot, pub grub. Excellent selection of gins and beers plus many more drinks. It is not fine dining, but, it was a lovely pie and chips and the welcome is excellent. Biscuits for our dog and a bowl of water for him. Friendly and happy staff. Really traditional pub. There are screens for sports matches but unless a big game is on, they are unobtrusive. As a new dog owner, I have found somewhere that I can't wait to return to. Not been at night for over 10 years so can't comment on...

We booked in to eat here on a Saturday evening but the staff seemed not happy that we had booked and also seemed put out trying to find any table left. We pushed our way through the massive crowd at the bar to be seated next to someone smoking a e cig! The room was overcrowded and noisy to the point where we couldn't talk to each other so we got up and left! Me and my family couldn't get enough of the flag for a drink and food but the last 2 times the food has been pretty poor, first time complained to waitress she said she'd let the chef know and that was the last we heard of that, the second time I complained at the bar when I was paying when asked if everything was OK, the guy just looked at me like I was a professional moaner and that was that, never again, piss poor!!!
