Greggs — Restaurant in Borough of Pendle

I've personally never had an issue with the serving staff at the counter. However, Greggs is a continual letdown. The number of times I've visited this outlet (as it's conveniently just around the corner from where I live) early in the morning and there's hardly any food stuck available. Shelves are empty from sandwiches to hot food. Then some of the food is inedible, despite the claim that all food is prepared daily, but what with, stale ingredients? My other half got a tuna sandwich, and the bread was solid, like concrete. She binned it. I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of complaining, as nobody will care.

It's a shame, but there are some okay things about Gregg's. I've had some food that is nice, from cold baguettes, breakfast baguettes, items from the hot section (when the shelf is 100% empty, as is more often than not the case) like the cheese bites etc, the drinks are okay enough, and the doughnuts. But there are far too many serious issues with food availability and quality that it puts me...

Normally love Greggs but the young male employee was so slow serving customers and preparing the breakfast sandwiches that our planned sit in visit turned into a mad dash. He took over 15 mins to serve 2 customers. Completely lacked any enthusiasm for the job. He really looked like he'd rather not be there. Couldn't multi take i.e make a hot drink while doing the sandwiches . The food looked piping hot when got out of the hot plate but by the time the sandwiches reached the actual counter it was already cold. No wonder with the messing about in between. In a busy shop such as Greggs you need to be able to serve customers quickly and efficiently and this is not the case here..explains why deliveries from this store have arrived ice cold...

We regularly come to this Greggs for breakfast on a weekend - this weekend was no different other than the fact our one year old was very unexpectedly sick over me, my husband and unfortunately the floor the second we had stepped in. Not only did a member of staff rush over to mop it up but after sorting out the mess she came out to the carpark to ensure he was okay.

It was a lovely touch, and a great representation of the sort of people who work in these establishments. We will of course be back...
