Bit of a mixed experience in here tonight! Turned up without a booking and were seated and had our orders taken nice and quickly. It was busy so we were told the wait could be half an hour or so - no problem. Two tasty g+ts and over an hour later, the table that arrived after us have had their starters and their mains arrive. I call over the server who has already “checked” on our order once before and he assures us he will check on our order and make sure it gets done next. Hungry and fed up, he comes back over and tells us it is being made. So imagine our surprise when it never materialises and in fact the kitchen has “lost the ticket” and unfortunately there’s no burnt ends pizza left. Extremely disappointing.
Props to the guy in the floral shirt (the manager?) who sorted it out- he couldn’t have been more apologetic and nice. He offered us new pizzas on the house which arrived very quickly and also wouldn’t let me pay for the drinks which was very much appreciated. We had the pizzas to takeaway because, after sitting there for an hour and a half, the time was running out on the car park.
Pizzas were very tasty and it won’t put us off returning. We’ll be going back for the pizzas we originally...

I presented an online voucher code before trying to order - voucher was ownloaded from Pizza Express' own website, valid for that day, for that restaurant.
Manager rejected the voucher with the words: "it's not valid for take out". When asked were that is stated, the initial answer was "that's just how it is, I know". When politely asking again how an average customer is able to see this, I was told: That it is somewhere in the T&Cs, which he is not responsible for and that's they are done by headquarters in the marketing department and that it is my fault for not reading them.
From my perspective and without diving into the details of several pages of T&Cs to a seemingly easy "X courses for price Y"-,offer, If the most senior representative of a customer focused business, like a restaurant, sees the need to communicate with his clients in the manner described above, something...
Read moreAverage pizza but it’s only pizza express so was not expecting much but the service does not even deserve a one star. Me and my partner are both sick so wanted a quick dinner delivered. Ordered before 6pm on Uber eats, estimated delivery was 6.55pm, then 7.10pm and eventually 7.40pm. Tried to call several times at 7.30pm but no answer. Ended up going and collecting it myself. Quite a rude and condescending manager. Tried to tell me preparation time was an hour for two pizzas despite there being only about 12 tables with customers in the restaurant. I know this is only a pizza order but when you pay you want to receive basic customer service. To rub salt in the wound they finally ’gave our order’ to a driver and he took a picture of my front door for Uber eats. Do yourself a favour and order from somewhere else, avoid pizza express...
