Went in for a full English breakfast because everything else was shut. Paid 30£ for two plates and tea which is a steep price but it can be understandable. Food turns up cold, one piece of bacon and no toast. So I go to get some toast, because at 30£ you’d think there be toast, was told 3 pieces of toast is 11.85, so 4£ a piece. I sucked it up as we had already gotten our food, but then the toast turned up not properly toasted and freezing cold butter that wouldn’t spread. All in all their breakfast is a total rip off and we will probably never come back again, also wouldn’t not recommend this to anyone who thinks that half toasted bread should not cost 4£. Staff was nice at least. Edit: There presumably where also a dog in the kitchen as we heard a bark and and a dog walking from the kitchen. Edit2: Answer to owner response: I apologise if this review seem malicious but in reality I am just describing my personal experience. We know the places is good for a quick beer as we have been there before but not tried the food. I also don’t mind expensive food if the food lives up to the price. I think the picture speaks a thousand words

Stayed in Chertsey before going to thorpe park and decided to pop into a pub for a few drinks and dinner. Pleasant and welcoming bar staff, beautiful decor throughout inside and outside, the food was cooked beautifully and just as we requested, waitress was always checking to make sure we were happy with everything and if we needed any top ups on drinks. Will definitely visit again.

I used to go to The Crown a lot a few years ago - but haven’t been recently. We went yesterday for a Sunday Roast and it was one of the best roasts I’ve had out. We shared the Pinacha Beef between four of us and was delicious. Cauliflower cheese also good! The new refurb is also fantastic - especially the toilets. Highly recommend and will be back sooner than a few years!

Absolutely terrible service. 3 women aged 42, 21,17 wanted a meal, asked as soon as we walked in if they was still serving food, to be told “yes just grab a table” 21yr old went to the bar to order drinks to be id and told by the rudest bar man ever I’m going to id all 3 of you, yet our order was two pints and a coke!!!! He then said I’m not serving you. 42yr came over and said why aren’t you serving us? When we showed all id, he then said in a patronising way “how do I know you aren’t just going to give the 17 yr old a drink !!!! Which baffled us as we only ordered two alcohol and one soft drink, yet there was a family with two younger children who was drinking wine at their table with their two children, with no issues or refusal. The 17 yr old actually work in hospitality so we know the legal requirements for these establishments, 42yr old said “we are having a meal and you can clearly see she isn’t drinking!! He then said well what you thinking of ordering for food!!! Which personally we don’t think that question had anything to do with the situation in hand. We felt that he went out of his way to make us feel uncomfortable and by no means is he well suited for the job he was supposed to be doing! Being a group of women (family members) already can be dawnting and having someone who works in customer service making us feel belittled isn’t on at all. Definitely will not be coming back and will by no means recommend to anybody else. Appalled by the behaviour of the staff member and they should really reconsider who they are employing and if they are suitable for the job and the responsibilities that come with that. With love, 3 Cornish women who tried to enjoy a nice...

We just had the most amazing Sunday Roast Dinner at The Crown. We loved to come here for years, and they recently underwent a big renovation. We were thrilled coming back because it looks great! Beautiful art on the walls, super cosy furniture and looks so fantastic, even the toilets done up!

Today we had the delicious cheese souffle, greatly seasoned calamari and then the Picanha Sharing Roast platter (for 3-4 people but definitely definitely for 4! So much food we luckily got to take it home as a second dinner!)

I always think Sunday Roasts at pubs can be a bit underwhelming - but this is one of the best I've ever had at a pub! 😍 The meat was so well seasoned and had a great soft texture. We were given 4 huge Yorkshire puddings that were the perfect mix of crispy and soft 😍 just like the roast potatoes. Fantastic veg and cauliflower cheese and extra gravy

We honestly couldn't have had a better meal. Then you think about the staff, who were so friendly, chatty and welcoming. One gentleman was happy to tell us stories, or would compliment our food choices as he passed by. We also had a lady who was so cheerful and pleasant đŸ„° everyone was so attentive, we were never left wanting anything. Even staff who delivered a plate quickly were so kind and accommodating. Never had such good service

The Crown has always had great food and atmosphere but I was really blown away after the refurb! We can't wait for an excuse...
