Chertsey Abbey, dedicated to St Peter, was a Benedictine monastery located at Chertsey in the English county of Surrey. It was founded in 666 AD by Saint Erkenwald who was the first abbot, and from 675 AD the Bishop of London.

Peaceful abbey grounds with several interesting areas to explore and plenty of benches to sit down and relax on. There are no visible stone remains of the abbey which sadly fell victim to a murderous viking attack. There's no entry fee and no visitor centre here. I managed to park next to the grounds...
