We have just been at the restaurant in Addlestone and there are no words to describe how disappointing was our experience.
As we arrived, I was very impressed with the decoration and the layout of the restaurant. The tables have a nice size, and the seats are very comfortable. Unfortunately, the good points stop there.
Our booking was on a Saturday at 18:30. When we arrived, the restaurant was already with 75% occupancy and, to my surprise, there was only ONE waiter passing around with the meat. After waiting for a good 10 minutes, we finally managed to order our drinks and headed to the buffet.
Buffet:
Don’t expect the same buffets that they have in Brazil, but I can say it was ok. Most people are there for the cuts of meat and not for the buffet. A point to be mentioned: the plates are kept in a very hot plate warmer which is located just next to the cold salads. You don’t want to eat a hot salad!
Meat:
It took a long time for the lonely waiter to pass around with the first cut. Picanha! As a Brazilian, this is the most popular cut in Brazilian Churrascarias. Massive disappointment. Thick cut and extremely chewy. More of a Coxão Duro than a proper picanha.
5 minutes late we had our second cut: sausage. Probably the best cut of the night.
Before the 3rd cut arrives, our rice and beans were already cold. Not a surprise with just one person passing the meat around for a almost full restaurant.
I asked the waiter if he was the only one serving that night and he mentioned that a second one would start soon. This was 7pm on a Saturday night!
Our next cut supposed to be Garlic Picanha but once again, it was a very tough and burned Coxão Duro. Horrible!
Next cut was supposed to be beef ribs. What we got was a large piece of burnt meat with full of cartilage. Inedible!
The next cut was sausage followed by Garlic Picanha (again). At this moment, I asked the waiter about other cuts that was showing on the menu on the website: sirloin, pepper steak, rump tail with cheese, file mignon with cheese and bacon, chicken chilli thigh and the answer was that these cuts are only available at the Watford restaurant. The Instagram and Facebook pages of the restaurant does not distinguish menus on the restaurants.
The dinner was followed by Maminha (dry), Chicken and bacon (dry), Hump (ok) Gammon (good), chicken hearts (good) and another round of burned ribs which we didn’t go for.
We felt very mislead with the whole experience. As a brazilian, living locally, I had...
Read moreUntil last Friday, my experiences at Terra Brazil were consistently positive, and I often recommended the establishment to friends. I had visited multiple times, always enjoying good service, and had even been warmly received by the manager during my visit two weeks prior.
Last Friday, I suggested to friends that we have our Christmas dinner at Terra Brazil. Everything was going well until I found myself in an unfortunate incident while waiting to pay. I was unexpectedly pushed by a child, causing me to stumble. Thankfully, I avoided a fall due to the quick response of a waitress in front of me.
In response, I calmly turned to the child, advising him on better manners—suggesting that next time, he should ask to pass rather than pushing. Unexpectedly, the situation escalated when the child's mother, who happened to be a waitress at the restaurant, approached me. She inquired about what I had said to her child, and I reiterated my earlier comment about encouraging better manners.
To my surprise, the mother instructed her husband, who is also the manager, to confront me aggressively. This caught me off guard, as I believe a constructive dialogue would have sufficed. The manager, fortunately, acted reasonably and took his wife away from the situation.
Despite this unfortunate incident, I paid my bill and left. However, I must express my disappointment and concern about the behavior of a staff member, particularly when influenced by alcohol(never seen a waitress drinking during the service). As a result, I am hesitant to return to a place where such incidents can occur.
I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope that Terra Brazil can address and rectify such situations to maintain the positive reputation it had built in my previous...
Read moreShocking! I took my kids here on a Sunday afternoon, only 3 tables seated so the place was empty, which soon turned out to be friends of the staff or staff members themselves. So there wasn't really an excuse for what happened. The waitress looked shocked when we walked in, not sure if she was new, but she didn't provide us with any instructions, or drinks, or a table, it was only after I asked what was going on. I should have picked up on the fact she kept asking if we wanted pizza, that the food wouldn't be good. Randomly a male waiter slammed down pizza menus in front of us, without greeting us, and promptly walked off. Luckily the self serve buffet menu was OK, the only good part of the whole experience! The meat which came round, was cut so thinly, it was like wafer meat, and not the standard you should expect from Brasilian restaurants. The meat we did get was cold and not seasoned at all. And all of a sudden the meat stopped appearing, the staff friends table got the fresh meat, it got to our table, and we were told, the meats not cooked so its going back to the oven. It finally reappeard 20 mins later, but that stage, I got the attention of a staff member chatting to his friends, as the waitress had disappeared on her phone, and asked for dessert menu. As it appeared we had eaten as much as the restaurant was willing to give us, and had done serving us food. Which wasn't enough at all, a McDonald's single burger would have been more filling. A joke, and a disgrace, no thank you for coming, nothing. Food was awful, no service, in fact not even normal greeting or a goodbye! No wonder the Smith and Western across from the restaurant was packed, avoid this place...
