In the last two years the Bailiwick has become my #TheLloydies Gastro Pub Dining Experience winner and it’s not hard to see why. This firstly has been due to the amazing food created by chef / owner Steven. Then you have top pastry chef / owner Ami with her excellent array of delicious desserts. You also receive the friendliest of service from Liz and her young team. I have to say that after our latest visit it would be very hard for anyone to stop them making it three in a row. I say this because on saturday evening we enjoyed the most amazing Game Tasting Menu. The evening started with the usual friendly welcome from Liz and the team before enjoying a drink at the bar. My wife loved the Clarified Milk Punch while I went for the new spanish Cruzcampo lager now on sale at the pub. We were then escorted to our table and once comfortable we were shown the evening’s Tasting Menu using all the amazing local produce from the Windsor Great Park. There was also the option of a wine pairing so we decided to opt for this as well. The first course was Tea and Snacks featuring a Bone Broth , Rabbit Croquettes with Bacon-naise. The broth was full of flavour and the croquettes were heaven. We enjoyed this along with Bread and homemade Sage and Onion Butter. This was followed by the Game Terrine with pickled heritage carrots and hedgerow ketchup. I have to say this was one of the best terrines I’ve eaten in a very long while. Next to come was the Venison Doughnut with “chilli con carne” , puffed rice and sour cream. This was quite simply stunning. Then things got even better with the next course of Hare Royale Tortellini with lyonnaise onions and sauce soubise that was incredible. We now moved on to the main course which was worthy of being the main dish on any menu. The Stuffed Ballotine of Partridge with truffle gratan , chanterelles , burnt young leek and sauce albufera that was just sublime. Now it was time for Ami and she started with a fabulous pre dessert of Apple Sorbet with sorrel. For dessert she offered us the chance to choose from any of the desserts on all the menus. My wife chose the ‘After Eight’ a dark chocolate delice , peppermint , cocoa nib and mint ice cream. For myself I had to choose the evenings special dessert. The Apple Crumble topped with caramel and served with ice cream and cream. This was easily the best crumble I’ve enjoyed for many years so once again thank you Ami. We finished with a coffee and petit fours to bring to an end a truly amazing dining experience. The food was absolutely incredible , the desserts were delicious , the service was very friendly from all the team. This place really is a must visit and I can’t recommend the Bailiwick Pub highly enough. Whether it’s for a quick bite after a walk round the Windsor Great Park or for lunch or dinner it’s definitely worth popping in. I would also recommend Sunday Lunch where you will enjoy one of the best roasts ever. Thank You Steven , Ami , Liz , Arran and all the team for a fantastic evening and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

The Bailiwick Freehouse This was an incredible way to truly get underway my dining year of 2025. We’ve visited the Bailiwick quite a few times now but this visit will definitely stand out. On saturday evening enjoyed a fantastic Game Tasting Menu of 7 courses which priced at only £80 was amazing value for money. We started the evening with a cocktail at the bar where we enjoyed a nice chat with owners Steven and Ami before taking our seats at the table. We chose a bottle of Lalande de Pomerol La Menotte 2022 that paired perfectly with every course. The menu started with a fabulous selection of Charcuterie and Snacks including Rabbit Chorizo , Pigeon Salami , Rabbit Rilette with Cheese Sable and a heavenly Pigeon Sausage Roll along with a game consommé. This was followed by the Parker House Roll with a Game Bird Liver Parfait , sage and onion butter. Next to come was an excellent Game Terrine , Stuffed Pheasant Leg and Woodcock which was accompanied by an Offal Cottage Pie. Each dish was cooked to absolute perfection and the flavour was stunning. This led us to dessert where first we enjoyed a Rhubarb and Custard pre dessert before the main desserts of an absolutely delicious Tiramisu and a Coconut Rice Pudding Tartlet. We finished with a coffee and sticky toffee doughnuts before being joined for another chat with Steven and Ami. This gave us a chance to personally thank them and the team for an amazing evening from not only the team in the kitchen but the front of house which was led superbly by Lewis. I would highly recommend a visit to the Bailiwick which is set on one of entrances to the Windsor Great Park. The food is amazing and you will be well looked after by the team. Thank You Steven and Ami for a wonderful dining experience and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Really can't understand why there are so many bad reviews for the Bailiwick, I can only think that there are different staff on different days as we had a 1st class experience. The decor is nice, classy, but not snobby. Staff were really friendly and helpful with just the right amount of attention. The food took a while to come out, but we weren't in a hurry, and I'd rather the kitchen took their time and prepared fresh food. We shared the smoked salmon scotch egg, and it was perfectly cooked with a nice runny egg. I think I would prefer more traditional sausage meat, but it was fresh and tasty, just not my favourite. I had the muntjac deer, and my partner had the gammon chop. The deer was a combination of different cuts, all nicely presented with some good flavours. The gammon chop was something special - tender, succulent, and tasted delicious. Shared the knickerbocker glory for dessert, which was ice cream, caramel. Banana and pop corn. It was tasty although I would have preferred something more traditional with fruit. Finished off with some great coffee. All in all a great lunch, there were some things I wasn't that keen on, but they were nicely cooked, just not my taste.

An amazing experience for me and my friends. We booked The Bailiwick for a Monday night meal with friends and I cannot recommend it enough. The service was personal, friendly and down to earth - we had great conversations with all of the staff that served us and really enjoyed learning about the food we were eating. The venue is cosy, warm and the lighting helps to create a very chilled out vibe as well. We sat in the Snug area which was lovely. I imagine parking is a challenge at the weekend, but we came on a Monday night and there was plenty available.

The food was phenomenal as well - the little details like the hot, fresh bread served with an amazing compound butter and game stock, as well as homemade chocolate to finish were fantastic! That's not to mention the stars of the show, the food we ordered. The menu is exciting and features a wide variety of choices — we went for the deer for main which was phenomenal. The addition of the (probably butchering what this was, sorry) bacon sauce to go with it was fantastic! Plus, that hotpot was out of this world! It doesn't look like a lot from the look of the plates, but it felt like I'd never eat again by the time I left - you won't be hungry afterwards.

I had the soup and rarebit for starter - what a brilliant idea to serve it with rarebit! Divine. Plus the knickerbocker glory for dessert - a proper treat, the ice cream was delicious.

I cannot recommend The Bailiwick enough if you're looking for something exciting and different. Yes, it was a little more expensive than what I'd normally go for, but considering the quality of the food and the service I think it's well worth the price we paid.

Another plus - we were getting a little nervous about how eagerly our sparkling water was being replaced as we thought we'd need to pay for it — not the case! You pay one price (£2 per person) and get unlimited sparkling water with your meal. Restaurants like this could easily get away with charging upwards of £6 for 750ml of sparkling water, so I was really pleasantly surprised when I saw the bill!

I look forward to coming back here as...
