I came across to this amazing place when I visited London. One of my cousins helped me discover this hidden gem located just next to River Thames. As an Indian I was looking to fetch my hunger with some good Indian food and I just got lucky coming to this amazing place for dinner. I was greeted while entering the restaurant in a polite manner which helped me to get comfortable for my dinner experience. The staff was very chivalrous and courteous as my order was taken very promptly with all the explanation needed to a guest while ordering the food. The person (I don’t remember his name) was very accurate in his job knowledge as he clarified each and every course before placing our orders to kitchen for the preparation. I was pretty happy with the starters which were served to us. Methi Malai Tikka was juicy and tender and it simply melted in our mouth. We ordered Chicken Makhani and Saffron Chicken Korma for our main course. Both the dishes were well above our expectations. To finish up the dinner we ordered Rasmalai, Deshi Kulfi and Gulab Jamun for our desserts and I was astonished to have such a wonderful dessert outside my country. The taste and texture was as equivalent as I would get in India at any famous halwai shop. I departed with wonderful experience and made sure I would visit this place everytime when I land up in London.
Indian Zest, I’m going with five out of five for this place where every Indian food...
Read moreI booked a table for 20 to celebrate Diwali with friends. Amit was very helpful and worked closely to ensure we had our menu sorted to avoid delays on the day, as it was a busy Saturday night. He even worked off a spreadsheet I sent him with everyone’s orders. We had a table for the adults and an adjacent one for the kids who were all teens. When we arrived the food came out quickly and beautifully presented. The wait staff took care of our group and everything went smoothly. The food was delicious including the desserts. They have some vegetarian options which you rarely find in Indian restaurants but are much loved, like the jackfruit (Kattal) curry and also for dessert a beetroot halwa similar to the more popular gajjar (carrot) halwa and delicious. Overall a lovely night and the best part is that I did not have to micro manage as they were well organized and professional in their service. Ambience was charming too... the restaurant is a home which has been refurbished, so quite charming with a vintage feel including the wood staircase leading to the party seating area upstairs. There is a small paid parking lot right next to the restaurant in fact the restaurant entrance is via the lot, so that was convenient as well if you are able to get a spot there. Amit was very easy to connect with prior to the event, which made group planning much easier. Too many pics to post but have included a few....
Read moreJust had one of the worst experiences in a restaurant that has so many good reviews.
I took my wife and my three children, aged 4, 9 and 10 to eat at Indian Zest.
Not sure where to start, firstly the food was ok. Starters were nice, mains were average and the lamb, crikey, what was that. Anyway, I looked past the food, that was not the issue.
The main issue was that the toilets were full of adult rated Kamasutra pictures, to which all three of my children were exposed to!!! This is not on. What made it worse is when I complained to the waiter, his response to me and my family was "you muslims get offended but what can I do"!!!. Errrr, this has nothing to do with religion my friend, its the factvthat little children are exposed to such sexualised images without the warning outside the toilet or even when we asked the waiter where the toilet was, he should have said something like "please be aware soke for the graphics are unsuitable for children".
