Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Borough of Swale

When this Costa first opened, it was lovely… in fact I gave it 5 stars. However, there was then a change of management (and most of the staff) and unfortunately, in my opinion, it really went downhill. Staff less friendly and more interested in shouting across at each other and mucking about rather than giving polite customer service, tables uncleared… u get the picture. I stopped going there as a result.

I went back today for the first time in months. Afraid to say that, on this occasion not much has changed. There were 8 people in the queue and three people behind the counter. Only one appeared to be serving whilst the other two pottered about chatting. (They may have been busy with other tasks but this wasn’t obvious). They looked up at the queue but did nothing to help serve, nor to even acknowledge we were there or apologise for the wait. Looking around the setting area it looked really uncared for. Most food chains have enhanced cleaning routines at the current time, but this didn’t seem to be evident. I gave up and left. Such a shame - a simple smile or acknowledgement could have made all...

I was not very impressed with the cleanliness of this store when I recently visited at 11:00 hours: I would expect clean floors, tables and cutlery. I saw a male worker rinse my latte cup from what looked like a previous customer and then make my coffee in this.. he was asking for someone to do the dishwasher because cups were in short supply. Usual Costa menu. Slightly expensive as usual but great coffee. Unfortunately this particular one hardly ever has filter coffee (which is the best value) in the afternoon. I'm certain this should be served all day. If not please let me know Costa??? Anyway Starbucks have served me an Americano and charged me for a filter when it's not available. Sort it out Costa!! Only gave 2 stars as your coffee is superior to Starbucks which annoyingly I'm spending more time in as I cannot get a filter...
