You state that you are open until 7.30pm. I travelled from Bispham on Thursday 5th September 2024 and arrived at your counter at 7.20pm. Two young ladies were behind the counter. Before I had chance to place my order I was very promptly informed by one of these ladies that "We are now closed." I politely pointed out that the notice in front of me stated that the closing time was 7.30pm. I was then told that this was no longer the case. Extremely disappointing to say the least. I got back in my car. Whilst driving home along Poulton Road I discovered that Pisces Fish and Chip shop was still open until 8pm. I purchased my fish and chips there. I wasn't disappointed - beautiful food. This is a real shame. I would have previously highly recommended Shark Chippy. Alas this is no longer the case. If the notice in front of the shop states your closing time is 7.30pm then customers should be able to order until 7.30pm. Unfortunately I will not be returning.I will give my custom to Pisces on Poulton Road. I'm sure you will agree that the customer service level experienced at Shark Chippy was totally and utterly...
Read moreAfter reading the other reviews I was expecting something pretty good to be fair... but I'm gonna be honest we was pretty underwhelmed.
Besides the long wait which I can live with if this is the best chippy around as others have said, then the others must be really poor.
I'm not slaying the place by the way, food was cooked, wasn't covered in grease or anything and was packaged well.
It's just the actual food... it's tasteless and pretty poor.
The chips are what I'd best describe as boring and tasteless, not even in the top 100 of chips.
The fish was really poor in my opinion... bland, tasteless and the batter was not thick, was not crispy and again didn't taste of much.
I just want anyone going after us to be fully aware of what you are going to get and to substantially lower your expectations.
Whilst perfectly edible I'd choose a £3 Tesco bland meal deal over this place I'm afraid next time. Save your money and time and look elsewhere.
Just an honest...
Read moreOrdered a large haddock, large chips, curry and peas. Fish quality was incredible! Sooo fresh and juicy. But where’s the batter? It’s practically nonexistent, so nonexistent that I can’t even rate the batter :( As soon as I opened the box I was extremely disappointed as I could see the fish fibers/texture throughout the piece. That means it was so thinly battered it couldn’t even be distinguished from the fish it self. Usually you’d be able to separate the batter from the fish, and one satisfying aspect of the fish and chips experience is the option to peel a piece of the batter off and give it a taste. Look at the photos of the other reviews and you’ll see what I mean. I wish I’d had a look at the photos before I went to this chippy :( The chips were ok - cut a bit too short. The fruity curry was good, but too sweet for my taste. Peas were nice, but too solid, like a paste - I like mine...
