As a fan of Turkish food and happened to be in the area thought id give it a go. I was expecting it to be pricey given the popularity coupled with Turkish food in the UK has never been âcheapâ. That said, Iâve become accustomed to the usual complementary Ezme (chilli sauce), yoghurt mint sauce and bread and tea at the end (tea isnât always offered) Of course, it is built into the price, but i dont care, itâs still a nice touch.
So CZN Burak:
Ordered a mixed grill for 2, lamb chops, a Colada and a J20.
The Pros: We got seated straight away Waiter (young female) was pleasant. It will no doubt be popular, nice looking place for families to dine in.
Cons: Food was sub par. Absolutely nothing makes me want to revisit. Very low end restaurants in Istanbul produce better.
5 minutes after i placed order the waiter returned to politely tell me no Colada is available. Which, youâd expect to be a day 1 or 2 issue, but not something youâd except from a place that has been open for a while now. I swapped it out for the Raspberry Love which was just sugar/syrup, but i suppose thats what i come to expect with mocktails, so i guess it was average.
I want to criticise the length of time it took to receive the food but i wasnt timing it.
Zero complementary bread dips etc which is fine but disappointing given my general Turkish dining experiences. Didnât help their rating but nor did i want that to be a reason to deduct points.
However, when served the mains, no house sauces other than KETCHUP and TABASCO sauce was provided.
That is seriously poor.
Especially given the food was below average, drenching it in sauce would have helped mask that! So i asked for some house chilli sauce, the waiter reluctantly got one for us, but she had a look of fearing what the chef may say, but felt obliged because of the issue with the drink. Very small portion. We finished it and asked for another. She went away, again, not at ease, and returned and said âwe have ran outâ . LOL
Sorry that really is poor. Either charge for it or serve it as part of the meal. Donât hide it!
Bill was ÂŁ70. Pricey? Well it is by no means cheap but it is about what i expected to pay. Would i return,...

After driving more than 200 miles to eat here, I was expecting something memorable. Sadly, what I got was memorable for all the wrong reasons.
Service set the tone. The restaurant was practically empty when we arrived, yet our server managed to look overwhelmed, forgetting to take part of our order until called back. Once placed, our food took more than an hour to arrive ,with children waiting , while later arrivals were fed first.
When it finally did appear, the food was cold. The chicken was bland, particularly the steaks, which seemed to have missed even a brush with seasoning. The only dish that carried any flavour was the bulgur wheat , a poor showing for a restaurant of this style. Items promised on the menu, such as naan bread, never appeared, and unlike other diners, we werenât offered the complimentary Turkish tea.
Then there was the water. Tap water was refused outright on âfranchise policyâ grounds ,an excuse that sounded more like profit over hospitality, especially in a region where the water is perfectly drinkable. Bottled water was offered instead, but the delivery was hardly service: the bottles were simply handed to me to carry back to the table. I joked, âAre you offering me a job here now?â , though the reality was less amusing.
The justification for the delay was that ours was a âbig order.â In reality, it was two platters (one chicken, one mixed), a few childrenâs meals and mocktails. Hardly a banquet, and certainly no reason for cold food and an hour-long wait. Other Turkish restaurants manage far more with far better grace.
All in all, this was an exercise in how not to run a hospitality business: flustered service, uneven treatment between customers, cold food, and policies that make guests feel like an inconvenience. For context, Gokyuzu offers better food, warmer service, and a sense of hospitality this place...

"We had an absolutely incredible evening at CZN Burak in Bradford! From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and stylish, chic decor set the tone for an unforgettable night. The manager, Ismail, was a true gem, going above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. His customer service was impeccable and truly added to our experience.
We were lucky enough to visit on one of their entertainment nights, which featured performances by Iron Man, Mirror Man, and a magician that captivated everyone â especially the kids, who had the time of their lives!
The food was simply out of this world. We started with the mixed mezze platter , wow every single 1 was just amazing, the Fattoush salad and the Tulum and cheese salad â both incredibly fresh and bursting with authentic flavors. The main courses were equally fantastic: the mixed chicken grill (we ordered two!), the perfectly tender adana kabaabs chicken pieces, chicken steaks drum sticks served on flat bread that soak up all that delicious flavours, we also tried the Testi Kebab, and the stuffed kofta oozing with cheese were highlights for me. The Double Beef Asado, which was cooked to perfection, falling of the bone đ€€
For dessert, we indulged in the San Sebastian cheesecake this was the best I have ever had in the uk and the carrot-shaped baklava, which were both phenomenal, and paired beautifully with the rich, traditional Turkish tea.
The mocktails were also exceptional, scoring a perfect 10/10! Each sip was refreshing and expertly crafted, the frozen strawberry đ was my favourite đ€©
All in all, CZN Burak in Bradford offers a top-tier dining experience thatâs as entertaining as it is delicious. We can't wait to return for another family night out. Thank you, Ismail and team, for making our visit...
