Eastern Aroma — Restaurant in Braintree

This used to be our favourite Chinese take away until today. It seams that they have an issue with ordering. A couple of weeks ago I ordered Chinese from the menu that posted on their Facebook page. However when the food turned up some of the items were missing and some were not what was order. Phone up to speak to the manager to which he informed me that it was my fault that I ordered off the dine in menu and should have looked at the menu on the website after repeatedly saying that the website was down so the only option was to look at the Facebook menu apparently I was wrong to do that. Anyway 15 mins later missing meal was replaced. Today completely my order was take money paid in full. Told expect food in about an hour (pretty standard) on receiving the food noticed that part of my order was missing (pretty unsurprised ) also playing up the food noticed that it was cold. Phone up and explained that again they have ruined another dinner. I sent back all of the food that was in tact and bitten food I binned (wish I boxed it all up) told them I wanted a full refund and that the driver can pick up the food. On arrival the driver spoke to the “manager” which offered a £25 refund out of £50. Two tubs were missing due to binning the food because it was cold. Everything captured on CCTV at home the driver gave £40 as he clearly was embarrassed by the situation.

LAST STRAW WITH THIS TAKEAWAY. What a shame considering we were regular customers and used to enjoy their food. How a place can go down...

Really really disgusted with my experience today. I planned on the family (10 people)having a nice chinese after Xmas lunches and dinners gets very boring. I was greeted from the waiter who I have never seen before who asked if I have booked a table even though the place was empty we were the first in the place and considering it's Saturday it never gets that busy in there. We sat and started looking at the menu to choose what we were going to eat, then the waiter asks if we are having the buffet menu which we reply yes. He then shows us all a different menu which states because it's Christmas, prices have gone up by £5 per person for the SAME MENU with the addition of 1 item YAY because that's worth £5 per person. So what would have been a nice lunch then turns into a massively expensive lunch. I could understand if it was the 24th 25th or 26th but a Saturday 28th and your still trying to charge so much for a buffet we had no choice we all left and went to palm trees instead were they welcomed us and didn't try and overcharge us for a buffet. In all the 16 years I have been coming here iv never felt so angry for the money they are charging for a buffet and the waiter asked if I'd booked a table what a silly question as you won't have a single customer for lunch charging...

If I could leave a -1000 I would. Tonight has been the worst service I have ever encountered, 2.5 hours and still not had acceptable starters. Our kids hungry at the table and a big family birthday party ruined, you had the audacity to charge us £200 for going hungry - having to go to McDonalds for dinner. You served us stone cold food when it did arrive 2 hours after we arrived and just generally appalling service and attitude. Having said this the 2 girls at front of house might be your only saving grace, clearly very over worked but remain friendly throughout and continuously apologetic. I am appalled and disgusted about what has happened tonight and it simply was not acceptable in anyway, we watched other tables also have to leave as still awaiting their starters and drinks. I waited nearly an hour for water and chased it 3 times, if you cannot fulfil the orders asked of you then you should not take more. We will not ever eat here again and I would not recommend it anymore to anyone, the whole experience is one none of us will forget anytime soon and not for any good reason. A birthday...
