Braintree and Blocking Park. Firstly, we went there and the gate was open. It was after 5pm. As we entered the gate, a man was leaving. He said we are too late. Then the gate keeper or the park man who closes the park wasn't so far behind. He also said the park was closing soon. Therefore we left. The park was closing soon because it is WINTER. Therefore check before you visit. The more winter it gets, the less time the park will be open. We then came back on a Saturday morning and the park was open. The rides are for young kids up to 13. Any child older will not find the playground old enough. They also have a canteen and toilets. They also have tennis 🎾 course(HARD TARMAC) and they are for rent. It also has some desks and chairs and some fell trees. Overall, it is a good park and it has some green field where you can...

Probably the best place to be around Braintree. The park is great for relaxing, family picnics, or viewing all the many different trees, fauna and the pond. The cafe supplies good coffee and snacks and spaces outside on park benches as well as indoors to sit. There are events happening throughout the summer, including outdoor cinema and activities for families to enjoy. A brass band is usually booked for summer day concerts. If you haven't already been before, I certainly recommend a quick visit, which might just sway you to return sooner rather than later. It's also worth, in my book, a small donation to the contribution box opposite the cafe near the entrance/exit, for the hard work ground staff do, keeping it in...

Beautiful public gardens well maintained and constantly improved. There is an abundance of trees and shrubs of various kinds with information boards to enlighten us. I particularly like the small monument to HMS Kite a ship adopted by B&B but sadly was sunk during WW2 with all hands lost. The small children's playground is very good with a variety of play equipment and there is an independent snack bar within the grounds too. All in all well worth a visit or a short stroll through on your way into Braintree.town centre. Sadly no cyclists or dogs allowed but we can't have everything. There are also a number of concerts, movie shows and Gigs throughout the summer circumstances permitting. Very good local facility...

Stopped here so Fantastic Mr Franklin could have a run about. The play ground has a couple of bits, and very busy. The park itself has lovely grounds and was well kept during the time of our visit Autumn 2022. The Cafe / Coffee house was closed (Sunday midday) some locals were telling visitors that the staff are unreliable which wasn't the best start. It didn't spoil our experience but a coffee would have made it a little nicer. Overall nice little park to walk around and stretch those legs!

I didn't know what to expect from this park. The coffee shop was lovely, but the park itself was super busy for a small play area. It did have a trampoline, which the kids loved. The real jewel of this park is the wooded area at the back. It's obviously looked after by a skilled team of gardeners. The pond is lovely and the trees and plants are very well kept and thought out. My kids loved running around the whole area for far longer than they played in the play area. A real hidden gem.

Absolutely Delightful! We went to the Annual Car Show which was really good but the real beauty was actually the gardens! We had no idea they were so lovely and definately recommend a visit. They are so tranquil and the variety of trees amazing. We intend to visit at different times of the year I'm sure Autumn will be splendid with all the colours of the leaves. So glad we went!
