Came to Omar’s tonight on an off chance, read the reviews and they seemed very good so thought it was worth a try!! We WONT BE BACK, Food was really average, they must pay people to write these good reviews or there locals supporting a local business 🤣🤣 as people tend to do, Waited over an hour for starters which I asked for really spicy and was told NO can’t do spicy as it’s already pre maid, ok so add some chilli powder!! After another half hour the mains appeared, after having to ask where they were again, mains were no better, microwaved food that appeared, freshly cooked food does not steam for ages, Naga was about madras hot, the owner the brought me a second one which was supposed to be even hotter, it was again microwaved and it was not hotter it was even milder, maybe they meant temperature was hotter 🤣🤣 POOR RESTAURANT, don’t even sell alcohol you have to go buy it over the road I know Indian restaurants, THIS PLACE AIN’T WORTH A VISIT, THE LOCALS OBVIOUSLY LOVE IT AS ITS THE ONLY INDIAN, Don’t trust the locals reviews go to a...
Read moreCan't fathom other reviews - this place was terrible, and not just them having a bad day.
The only decent things: the rendang was ok, although I don't recognise the flavours as a rendang I've had before (it's not meant to be saucy). The lime pickle was fine, just like out of a jar. The popadams were fine. The onion bahjis were good.
The bad, though.
Their chicken and prawn pakoras simply weren't pakoras - they had used dried breadcrumbs from a pack and deep fried them to death. Pakoras are a batter, not a breadcrumb. £6.50 for the prawn ones is shocking value. Shocking.
The Korma had no discernible taste. Both the korma and the sag paneer just tasted like the core ingredients with cream thrown on top. Really unpleasant.
The daal masala was watery, and with little flavour.
Even the rice had a washed out flavour that we wound up throwing away.
Fundamental mistakes that have angered us, after spending so much money hoping to enjoy leftovers...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of ordering at Omar’s Tandoori, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was nothing short of amazing, surpassing all the other Indian restaurants in the area. The chicken was incredibly tender, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection, retaining their vibrant flavors. The curry was spectacular, rich and aromatic, offering the perfect balance of spices. The naan was soft, warm, and absolutely delightful.
To top it all off, the customer service was top-class. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure every detail of our order was flawless. Omar’s Tandoori has truly set the bar high for Indian cuisine, and I can’t wait to return. Highly...
