To begin this eventful night, we put our orders in at 6:50 and immediately went to the salad bar to get some food. To much shock, there was no pasta, barely any sweetcorn, no croutons at all and many more empty sections where there was supposed to be food. This limited the selection quite substantially and I was even more disappointed as I had planned to have pasta and sweetcorn before hand. After that, we waited until 7:45 until our mains started coming out (keep in mind it is a Monday night with many empty tables). Waiting over 50 minutes for our mains to come out had my expectations rather high, however I was once again disappointed by the lack of freshness of my plate. I had paid £19 for my meal, the chicken was almost cold and hard, the chips were very stale and the leaf garnish was wilted and unappetising. My friend had ordered the Ribeye steak medium rare and when it came out it was well done and extremely tough. He had also ordered peppercorn sauce on the side that was forgotten. Another problem was that our server took almost 10 minutes to bring out our drink glasses and the forgotten peppercorn sauce despite them not being busy at all, but I will say she was very polite and patient when solving our problems.
Overall, I had quite a disappointing experience and would not advise people to come here. If you want to go to a Harvester I recommend any other one nearby, the Brentwood one is significantly underperforming and I will not be returning...
Read moreMy partner ordered THE HARVESTER ULTIMATE BREAKFAST WAFFLE. When it arrived my partner was unhappy that the sausages and bacon were visually burnt. When we asked if this could be changed the waitress informed us that this is how they are served due to going on the grill. When we advised the waitress that the food does not need to be over cooked as a result of going on the grill. We showed her the food the sausages and bacon were burnt/black and tasted burnt (they had been placed on the plate so that this was not visible unless turned over) she asked if we would like them to be recooked in the fryer. When she asked the chef if this was possible he informed her no. When the waitress returned to our table to deliver this news she informed us that my partner could have something else. To my understanding the sausages and bacon were the main point of the breakfast. From the conversation the only other options the waitress was referring to was taking a vegan option I do not believe this was fair customer service.
My partner ate half a sausage and left the remainder of his breakfast.
We were still made to pay the...
Read moreWe had Christmas dinner here. The starter was really nice, the main was nice, but the roast potatoes tasted ready made frozen ones. The ice-cream was partially already melted, and was a bit of a let down, and tasteless even with the chocolate and biscuits in it. We were rushed with our food having all 3 courses served within an hour! We felt rushed at each course. When the young man came over and took our plates, I was still finishing off my starter and he said ‘are you finished’. It felt more of a direction than a genuine question. Upside, staff are polite (though the young man was rushing), nice friendly atmosphere. We managed to get a table booked only the day before, I can see why now as they seemed to be just rushing people through. We were also put on a very small table, although only 2 of us, it still felt a squeeze and a staff chat was held right next to us at one point with a butt literally to my right 😆. I wouldn’t spend all that money to have Christmas dinner there again, but I would go back for lunch or the like in a normal day. Overall experience for a...
