Went to this place for breakfast which is apparently ā€˜served until 12 noon’. My two friends and I ordered our breakfast at 11.36 ( according to the receipt!) and waited with our tea for over half an hour. I went to check on it’s progress only to be told, ā€˜ sorry it’s too late so you’ll have to order something else’ I argued the point that we had ordered in plenty of time and paid for three breakfasts, but was told ā€˜the chef won’t cook it as it’s too late and breakfasts have stopped being served’ I spoke to a member of staff as I had tried to speak to who I believed was the manager, but was only a team leader called Sam. The member of staff didn’t know the complaints procedure, or the name of the team leader. I asked for a pen to write down details as eventually when I did speak to Sam, she was extraordinarily rude! She found a pen and slammed it on the bar! We asked for a refund as Sam was not going to budge in the decision to not serve the breakfast we had ordered. She made no apology, she was extremely rude and then was not gracious enough not to charge for the 3 teas we had, considering we had ordered and paid for breakfast that they decided they would not serve. She blamed the chef! I don’t think I will use this place again. I’ve used it before but since the experience we had on Saturday I won’t set foot in there. Customer service 0 points. Attitude of Sam -10 points. Overall experience, there’s not a low enough...

Good pub atmosphere. Food comes out quickly which suggests that the majority is microwaved. I've never had an issue with the food. However, have heard others complain. I don't know why when it's so cheap and usually has a deal to include soft or alcoholic drinks. Good selection of daily specials, like curry club on a Thursday etc. Selection of drinks is very good and enough to cater for almost all drinkers. Tea and coffee are refillable and I'm always surprised how cheap a round is. Downside is seating. If there's only 2 trying to sit somewhere, you can usually find a seat. If there are more it can be hard to find something free and even harder to catch the attention of a potential local (whos been happily rooted on a table for 4 or more by themselves since opening) to give up there seat. Some staff will ask people kindly to make room for those wanting to eat, while others refuse. A better system should be adopted, which would also likely increase the turnover from people eating. Notice about when children need to be out should be clearly displayed too as it can be a surprise after waiting to get an available seat to then find out you only have ten minutes to order and eat your food. Overall a good place to go, if you're not too hungry or happy to...

I work in hospitality and I know the pain but Unfortunately this spoons ain’t the best . You pay for what you get but I asked for a medium-rare steak and it came rare . I ate it because my old dear paid for it and I didn’t wanna send it back , mushrooms had to be sent back because they were hard as rock . And my garlic bread with cheese basically tasted like cheese on toast . It didn’t have any garlic on it . So my mum got a refund on that . Mum had a jacket potato looked rather nice . But the chef needs to know how to cook a steak and I work at a steak house. If this was at a fancy restaurant a price I’d of sent it back and asked for a full refund ..

The pub is in desperate need of a deep clean. Ketchup, tissues and god knows what else smeared on the pictures on the walls. The seats and the floors are covered in detritus that never seems to get picked up. The new standing area around tiny round tables is absolutely ridiculous and needs to be reverted back to proper tables and with seats urgently!!! Update 14/02/24: if you can believe this they have no ice and no working tap so no drinking water available. Plumber on site doing work but why can’t they do it out of hours? Is it even legal to be open if they can’t provide potable water, I thought it was a licensing requirement?

Have been to Brentwood high st, bout 10/20 times what a lovely place It has lots of shops and drinking place , it's well worth a visit , and after the shops we pop in The Dairyman for a bit of lunch , great staff and chef , and a good price for food and drink , a big thanks to all that work here. we do love Brentwood High St . so do come here as it's a great place to shop and eat :) 30/3/2024 You can't get a better lunch at this price , for £20 :74 . We got 2x mains and a 2x glass of wine , where can you eat at this price , it's got to be the bargain of the year 5* :)
