Frequently I have to travel on business. Whenever I do I always look for the nearest Premier Inn and Premier Inn Brentwood was no exception. In the last few years I’ve stayed at their Manchester Central hotel, Chelmsford hotel, Birmingham NEC hotel, Peterborough hotel and of course Brentwood. I booked in advance and upgraded to the meal deal because I know how high quality the food is at all Premier Inn hotels. On checking in I met this lady called Monique with a wonderful South African accent and we had a joke that James Bond had come to the hotel. She had a real laugh when I showed her my driving license. She was shaken but not stirred (my joke!) I asked her where I could park and she mentioned the car park round the back or the train station car park. Once I had taken my stuff to my room I went to park my car but the car park round the back was full. I went back and asked Monique where the train station car park was. She was super helpful and directed me to it. On top of that she arranged for me to have wifi in my room. However lets consider the room. The moment I got into it you could smell how clean it was. Those bedsheets were perfectly ironed and I can’t begin to tell you how comfortable that bed was. However before I went to bed I realised that I had only packed one t-shirt for my 3 day trip! Talk about being badly organised! I found a Sainsburys online. Before I went to the restaurant I asked how far that supermarket was from the hotel and they said “just a few minutes drive.” I was really hungry so I went to the restaurant and this wonderful lady called Sarah was there. She found I was on the meal deal and I upgraded by paying the £2. I ordered the nachos. Those nachos were authentic traditional mexican cooking, I felt as if I was in Mexico. Those chillis were perfectly cut, the chips were perfect and the sauce was just perfect. Then came my main meal, the burger and fries. Those fries were not from the freezer. Chef had clearly cut them on site from fresh ingredients and made them that evening. They were crisp as you like and tasted divine. That burger was a dream to eat as well. However that chocolate sundae topped it all off. Do you watch The Simpsons? Have you seen that episode where two Germans buy the nuclear power plant where Homer works? In that episode Homer talks about his love of chocolate. Then his new bosses say "well we come from the land of chocolate." Homer then spaces out and goes into a dream about chocolate. That’s how I felt! As always I had a great nights sleep which is one of the main reasons I stay at the Premier Inn. Those rooms are fit for a king. In the morning I went down for breakfast, they had my details on the system. I just love the Premier Inn all you can eat breakfast. Like in every other Premier Inn those hash browns are divine, they are super crisp and made fresh that morning. Those tomatoes are a joy to eat. The mushrooms are cooked and cut to perfection. Don’t get me started on the scrambled eggs! That was a joy to eat. The apple and orange juice not only tasted divine but they were perfectly chilled too! For seconds I always go for yoghurt and the berry medley which was a joy to eat. That night after my course I went to the restaurant again. I’d got something from the supermarket but I needed a pair of scissors to open it. Sarah kindly got me a pair of scissors after I asked her. She even remembered what flavour J20 I liked so talk about personal customer service! That’s another reason I am so loyal to Premier Inn! Like the night before I went for Nachos, burger and fries and the chocolate sundae. I just hope nobody heard me say “mmmmmm chocolate” like Homer Simpson. That night I went for something different. I tried the garlic mushrooms which were a joy to eat. I got a Texan burger and my only regret is I forgot to take a photo. That was a joy to eat. However for desert I went for the fruit salad. That really hit the spot. I loved those apples, the grapes and pineapple. They were also nicely chilled as well. All in all, I was shaken but not stirred.

Lovely Room, Poor Service Experience We had high hopes for our stay. The rooms were lovely—clean, spacious, comfortable beds, and great air con, which was very welcome during the heatwave. Unfortunately, breakfast was a letdown. On the first morning, the food was lukewarm and dry—especially the scrambled eggs and mushrooms. I didn’t complain immediately, assuming it was a one-off. But the second morning was just as bad. The scrambled eggs and mushrooms were again dry, the hash brown had a bitter aftertaste—like it had picked up residue from an oven that hadn’t been properly deep cleaned—and a hair was found in my wife’s breakfast. We showed this to the woman on the breakfast desk (late 50s, also working reception). She was immediately defensive—saying the hair couldn’t have come from the chef as he had short hair, and must have fallen in from one of the guests. She also insisted the oven is cleaned daily, though the taste indicated a deep clean likely was needed. My concerns were met with excuses and deflection. I explained I hadn’t complained the day before, but the food issues were clearly ongoing. She made further excuses (such as “bacon can be dry”) and didn’t seem to take the concerns seriously. Later, I went back to explain that I felt gaslit by how the complaint was handled. At that point, she told me I’d been “aggressive,” which I disagree with. I was frustrated, yes, but not rude or confrontational. I even sat down to try to make her feel more at ease and explained I just wanted to give honest feedback. Eventually, she did apologise more sincerely, suggested smaller batches of food might help, and agreed to refund all the breakfasts we had prepaid, which we appreciated. Parking was another issue—only around 20 spaces, the “full” sign wasn’t working, and staff gave vague directions about where else to park. We were told to try the station car park, but the instructions were vague, which led to extra stress and wasted time. We weren’t expecting luxury—just hot, fresh good tasting food, basic hygiene, and a professional attitude when dealing with feedback. Sadly, it was the way our complaint was handled—not just the food—that left the worst impression. — Jay and Judy

Me and my partner, along with a group of friends, stayed here to attend the local mud run nuclear race. We booked premier plus room, as previous experiences in these rooms have been amazing at other locations. While the rooms themselves were just as nice as the others, there were a few let downs at this location that brought the rating down. Firstly was the comfort. The beds at this particular premier inn just felt straight up uncomfortable. The pillows were awful with every member of the group complaining of waking up with sore necks and backs. The rooms were also very warm, with no fans provided. However, the rest of the room was fantastic for the price, spotlessly clean, with great bathroom facilities. Secondly, the restraunt downstairs left a lot to be desired. We were a group of 6 and the only ones in there at the time. Even with this, we had the wrong dishes brought out as well as 2 mains coming out and being finished before the other 4 arrived. Granted, the others were large mixed grills, so this was understandable. Lastly was the location, overall no complaints here, the hotel is located opposite a decent bargain store for snacks and drinks. Next door is a very nice steak and cocktail bar. There are plenty of takeaways in walking distance, and for those attending the nuclear race, it's a 10 min drive away. Parking for the hotel is a pain. However, it was £18 for 2 days parking in a location 5 minutes away.

You know when you watching a comedy horror with scary and creepy smiling hotel staff? Thats the Premier inn in Brentwood . From the start to No other choice but to move mid stay from there as it was so awful , awful staff as well as the hotel in itself . Of Course I know its not Ritz and its only a 3* hotel but Please believe when I say it was way way below the standard . I dont think anyone check this hotel and what is actually going on in there . For me it was a business trip but I stayed with my two daughters . Lets start with breakfast , what you see on the picture .. forget it . My children ate there and said the breakfast was horrible and refused to eat there . Rooms Cleaning , for 3 days No one has emptied the bins No one has changed the towels , when i asked the cleaner politely to give us fresh towels and empty the bins she told me that they have too many rooms to clean and wont be able to clean ours?? Absolutely shocking . Went down to speak to the reception to send Someone to clean our room , No one was there but a big cook in a dirty apron asking rudely what do I want ? ( comedy horror ) scene. I ve told him that I am looking for the receptionist , he then told me he Will deal with me?? Another shock , what cook is doing in front of the House in a dirty apron dealing with hotel guests ?? I was shocked ! I told him of Course what I need as I wanted to have our room cleaned . I said exactly " Could I Please have our room cleaned and fresh towels put in there .. he then told me cleaners are busy ( another shock ) but he said he Will pass the message , put the wrong room Number on a piece of paper i corrected him and said Thank you and walked Away He then shouted behind me really loud "Thank you " I turned around look at him and said " Are you talking to me ??" He shouted yeah !! You didnt say Thank you ! I said of Course I did He then laughed and said I didnt hear you ! As I was walking Away I turned around and I could see he was talking about me to the receptionist . I went back as I wanted to deal directly with her . As I am talking to her , he is standing right next to her keep disturbing the conversation , I said " Excuse me " I am talking he said I ve already told her I was shocked I am looking at the receptionist shocked what is he doing as he was standing there mocking my conversation with her and she was just standing there shrugging her shoulders as if to say " what can I do?" I swear I have never come across worst Service in my life .I have always knew Premier inn to be an Ok place to stay but This has changed my mind for good . As I was doing my Work after , during that day , my daughter has called me to tel me that the cleaner came just emptied the bins and put clean towels leaving used ones still there and a general mess . My daughter then went to the reception informing that we are leaving earlier also complained about how the cook spoke to me. We moved to the near enough Holiday Inn and honestly what a difference . Thats an also 3* Hotel ! Premier inn was absolutely awful ! The cook in a dirty apron should have never been allowed to deal with hotel guests , he should be in the kitchen making sure the breakfast was edible . I really wish there was Someone from the Hotels Standards seein This ! Place would be shut on the spot . Please dont go by reviews from their site, I strongly believe they are not real . I have put an review there but it was never shown??

I paid £420 to get this ! Honestly , visit Holiday Inn instead . Wonderful staff , polite and always ready to help . Health Club with fantastic facilities and absolutely...

Sat down for dinner at 6.30pm fire alarm went off so exited building, manager was trying to reset fire alarm and having a problem. The rest of staff didn't know what exactly to do, during the next 20 minutes the fire alarm went off a few more times, we were then told there was no fire but a fault on the fire alarm board. We then had dinner and a couple of drinks and went to bed at about 10pm. At 10.30pm fire alarm went off again so we got up went down to reception the manager was once again trying desperately to turn off alarm and was on the phone for help. In reception there was no other staff and guests were congregating around the door for guidance,no one was telling the guests anything there was a young couple with 2 small children standing there in night clothes one still asleep in her fathers arms. Then a second member of staff appeared and instead of taking charge of the situation started booking more guests into the Inn and then letting them use the lifts to go to their rooms while the manager was continously pressing buttons on the panel. After 30 to 35 minutes we were again told there was no fire and we could return to our rooms. Both my wife and I could no sleep properly and kept looking at the green flashing light on the fire sensor on the ceiling. I was staying with my wife my brother and sister-in-law and non of us felt that safe going back to bed as the night manager was still trying to reset the panel. The following morning we spoke the another manager who told us that the night manager was a trainee and had phoned herself (this manager)for help and she had got out of bed and came into work, I said that no one took charge to inform guests what was going on and what to do. She said that it was not a real fire cause if it was the alarm would have sounded continously we didn't know that at the time. She also said the she could no be there all the time and was working 6 days a week that there was a staff shortage and only 2 staff were on duty Friday night one manger and one new staff member a student, the manger then said to make a complaint as it would help them. I felt like I was not being taken serious and was being fobbed. I feel proper protocol was not being used and staff were not trained to deal with this type of emergency . I will not be returning to this premier Inn again. I had go to a second Premier Inn on Saturday night in Swanley because we were attendind an important birthday party and could not drive home afertwards as I live 250 miles away in Devon, we still felt on edge and again did not sleep well due to the events on Friday night will are now considering if we will use Premier Inn in the future and will look foe...
