Rooms was clean had a fridge all good. Negative was that to get to the converted attic room ment lugging cases up two flights of steep stairs. Not for the faint hearted or unfit guest. Price was £170 + for two nights mid week . Like the stairs bit steep. Dinning room although we didn't use decor bit stark . The staff was lovely and we did get into room early so that's a plus. We had pre booked second stay in August . Room was on the first floor one set stairs. Room was minuscule For £153 for we were told later for this "Budget cheaper room" was awful. Especially as a hotel close by for a far superior room was only £131 I later found out. Bed was so uncomfortable slept on top of the folded bed linen. We were told Guest House was fully booked so no opportunity to change rooms. Never stay there again.

This is a hidden gem in Brentwood. While the rooms are comfy they are a touch tired and dated. BUT they are well maintained and clean. The staff are fantastic and the breakfast is worth going there for on its own. The garden room is a lovely place to breakfast and all withing a short walk of the high Street and train station. Inclusive parking makes this a very easy place to stay.

A very value budget hotel which isn't a bad thing. It's clean, well kept, very friendly and caring staff. If you need a place to stay you can certainly do worse for the money.

UPDATE: So I'm having to edit my review and add my response here as I would like to point out to every one how dishonest someone can be. As to The owner/manager's delusional and dishonest statement that they replied to me "within 10 minutes" of the booking, I am trying to attach a screenshot of the booking time which clearly wasn't "10 minutes" prior to review being left as I made the booking last night. Also, after reading other 1 star reviews it makes sense that it isn't the first and probably won't be the last time.

PS- original review below:

If there was an option for minus rating I would have given that. Booked a stay with them direct online as they advertise its bit cheaper to go direct. After doing that, they cancelled my booking and said the website showing "error price" and they quoted me 4 times more than I originally booked for. As it was a long stay they quoted me just over £5000 for 28 days stay. Safe to say I will not be staying with them and will go directly opposite them to Premier Inn which actually does offer you discount price when you book direct with them as they quoted me cheaper price than online. AVOID this place unless you are happy to not have a hotel room and still end up chasing them for the money you...

The room was very basic with cracked tiles in the bathroom and broken glass in the velux window.the 1st night we were woken at 2am by a drunk man loudly trying to find his room and trying seveal doors including ours to get in ,a Woman was also subjected to this and was visibly shaken by it,we both tried to get security to deal with him but there was nobody there. We later complained to the receptionist who advised me they saw what he was doing on CCTV and that he had checked out, at this point we asked if our second night would be quieter as we were here to work and we would have checked out if not, and booked into Premier across the road,we were assured it would not happen again!. The 2nd night at 4.30 am we were inturupted by a couple of drunk/drugged up holigans who entered the hotel shouting and swearing and also trying to get into our room,we told them to stop and the security came which proved to be less than helpful so we packed our bags and left a 4.50 am ! We tried to get the Manager to speak with us but the Hotel has just ignored all our calls!!!! Terrible service,Terrible Hotel,Terrible Management, AVOID...

Room I stayed in was huge, was equipped with a fridge which was very handy! the room and ensuite was clean and comfortable, and contained all i needed for my two nights, location is not pretty but fairly quiet apart from the sound of trains running which I find quite soothing, it is ideal for travelling about as transportation is plentiful, only down sides hence the drop in star for me, was that the decor was old and drab, the old curtains were difficult to pull across as so high up due to the high ceilings and run on an old curtain rail and the TV was tiny and I could only pick up basic TV channels, not that I watch TV but thankfully I had my tablet and could access the WiFi signal without issues at all and could watch Netflix perfectly ok. staff were welcoming and friendly and the breakfast room was bright and modern and the cooked breakfast was good albeit small possibly for some, but plenty for me, cereal, yoghurt and fruit were readily available too. Overall I was happy and would stay...
