Came here for evening meal with my daughter. Booked in advance for early evening and found we needed to since most tables were taken by people ha I guess an evening drink. The menu is rather limited and basic with a couple of ‘specials’ which were nothing special. There was a good choice of beers and they tasted good. The quality of the food was good and the service very good apart from the fact that you couldn’t have a tab and had to pay for everything each time you ordered, which is frustrating. We had a calamari starter with a chicken burger and sausage and mash with a wine and 2 beers which came to £45 which is pretty good value for money

Family friendly, friendly family pub, on the banks of the river. Lovely staff and mmmm great roast. I had the vegan option which was scrummy and the roast beef and chicken looked great. Excellent value for money meal with drinks for 5 = £90. We booked, it's easy on the website, and I would advise it on Sunday. Loos were clean at touch points, but could do with a little paint, it is the only thing I could fault, a rusty radiator. Loved the pool table area. Too cold to sit outside, but likely to return and maybe walk along the river, pop in for a pint👌in the summer. A little gem

Nice atmosphere and great position overlooking the River Avon. Visited on a sunny bank holiday so the garden was full with a happy holiday feel. Nice old fashioned pub I believe built in the 1700's. Food was classic pub grub and priced accordingly.

I am writing this not to insult the pub. I googled this pub and thought the location was great. nice story behind how the pub reopened after a long closure. I arrived with my gf and thought wow it's going to be our go to pub. Nice seating area and views. to be honest I just wanted to support local pubs. We both ordered guinness and thought that they're bit pricey at £4.30. But it's ok because the pub looks great and thought we would spend loads of time there. Then we ordered fish and chips which I thought was very expensive over £10. I thought this must be an amazing fish and chips. To be honest I have never paid so much for fish and chips. It took about 45mins to come, fair enough. I was just so shocked on how small the fish was. it was funny because we both ordered fish and it seemed like the chef has cut the fish into half and serve into 2 plates. The chips was great but I guess they got them from Lidl. Such a small portion for £10 worth of fish and chips. Really nothing special at all. We left right after the meal still feeling hungry. I actually ordered takeaway on the way back. I don't see this pub doing great in the future considering George Inn at shirehampton is so much better and with sport TV. Bad experience, dissapointed. No wonder they don't get good reviews. Just...

Service was extremely slow even for our drinks, due to covid you have to order from our tables. We waited over an hour for our food, was not to by staff when we came in and he certainly did not look like in was packed at all. When we asked how long our food would be, we just got food is extremely slow with no explanation really. But when it finally arrived it was very nice, the only thing I would say is the cutlery was served in a wooden box which they looked slung in there with sauces on top. Looked abit dingy really feel that should be looked at especially cause of covid and being able to clean them properly. Some of the waitresses was really nice and quite helpful but one tall girl with ripped jeans was quite rude. Was not pleasant when we asked to order some more drinks and I heard be very rude to another table. Which I felt was really out of order. Not sure I would rush back which seems a shame as food was quite nice when we finally got it. Staff could do with being more polite and better...

I have just had what I thought was a very tasty Red Thai Curry with chicken. Veggie version was available too. I am in no way a Thai curry expert but was very! tasty with nice rice, I thought and gave a tip as I left for overall real cheer from my visit. Last one several years back being from another corner of Bristol Northwest. - Very content indeed I was and finding the pub getting back on its feet, a great historic local down by the Avon fishing quarters of centuries past and looking over to Pill Creek with boats tied up ... over the other side of the Avon. Nice pot of tea plus biscoff biscuit for £2.45. Other cheaper and kids meals options available than the curry. Sunday visit open until 6 pm all afternoon. Seating outside, before 17th next week.... in nice quiet corner of the city and suburbs, as it is here much of the time quiet and away from things I think it is for a quiet trip here. And further along a green park area to walk and for kids to play etc. Walk by the Avon River...
