UPDATE: I’ve received sincere apologies from a number of the team and we were treated really kindly on our return visit. Really glad it sparked a review of how the pub wants to work with families and kids when they come. Thanks so much for making this effort as it was a horrible experience

Absolutely disgusted with my experience tonight. Went for a drink and pizza with some friends to one of our locals, we’ve always enjoyed coming before. I brought my young baby in the sling. After sitting for a while and having a drink, the total jobsworth that was sorting out the track and trace basically told me if she didn’t stop making a noise we’d have to leave!! I couldn’t believe he was serious. His concern was that other people wouldn’t be able to hear the music. No one else was sitting near us or looking remotely bothered by the low level grizzle my baby was making. We had chosen a quiet seat near the gate and furthest from the stage. He didn’t even get up to speak to us and was unbelievably rude. We left immediately. One of his colleagues did apologise outside but it felt a bit too little too late, and the manager wasn’t there. It’s so rare to find a time to hang out with friends and our night was completely ruined as I had to get my baby home without having eaten or spent proper time together. If there is a policy about no children after 7pm, a) why didn’t he explain this when I arrived at 6.30pm and b) I have never been anywhere else where this has applied to breastfed babes in arms. I have also been inside the pub with my previous baby a couple of years ago without having any issue. I am not one to usually write bad reviews or rant but feel left without an option on...

The newly named lion is very accommodating with go🎮od 🎮🎮music, good company, good pool, good late nights, a nice garden, a real fire, freshly made pizza....need I go on! Kan, the manager, is hoping to make the lion a big success and if the pub continues in its name I think that success will come🥇🎈♥️♣️♦️♠️🎲🎮🎴🀄🕹🎣

Well sadly the update is somebody attacked me in the garden and even more sadly I was told not to come in and drink alcohol which is absurd to be honest absolutely absurd I could have had the pub and that man done for assault I didn't and what do I get - treated like a child! I am 58 years old and was drinking in EastEnders before cane was even born so sorry Kane you got that...

I've been told this pub is cool and has good music and nice vibes which in my experience has been true, however on the evening of the 1st January the behaviour of the bar man was completely out of order and I should hope out of character. If someone can't handle working long hours without getting verbally rude and physically aggressive towards a customer that was causing no problems and mining his own business then quite frankly he needs a new job or psychiatric help. My jacket was ripped and jumper was ruined in this completely unnecessary...
