**Seven-Star Review for The Lock Up, Bristol** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you're on the hunt for an extraordinary dining experience, look no further than The Lock Up in Bristol! As someone who enjoys exploring new places each week, I have to say that this quirky gem exceeded all my expectations. Initially, I was a bit apprehensive, given its location on a bustling high street next to a busy road. However, stepping inside felt like entering a different world entirely. The atmosphere is a delightful mix of trendy and eclectic, creating an inviting space that instantly puts you at ease. Now, let’s talk about the roast! As a fan of traditional pub fare, I was thrilled to find that The Lock Up elevates the classic roast to a whole new level. The flavors are bold, the presentation is beautiful, and each bite is a testament to the care and creativity that goes into their dishes. The staff also deserves special mention. They are not only friendly but genuinely passionate about providing an exceptional dining experience. Their recommendations were spot-on, and their enthusiasm made our visit even more enjoyable. In a world where many dining establishments can feel cookie-cutter, The Lock Up stands out as a beacon of what a modern pub should be. I can't recommend it highly enough! Whether you're a local or just passing through Bristol, make sure to stop by. Trust me, you won't regret it!

Bristol has a fantastic food scene with heaps of amazing restaurants, bars and cafes. One that I can highly recommend is The Lock Up in Redfield. Serving modern British food, it's a gem of a place. My partner and I dined here last Saturday evening and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the experience. From the cocktails to the food, to the service, everything was just perfect. We both went for the chargrilled beef sirloin, which looked stunning and was delicious and surprisingly filling. Aside from the creative menu and scrumptious food, what sets The Lock Up apart from other places is the people who work there. The staff are welcoming, attentive and friendly. In fact, our lovely server (sorry, we didn't get her name, we were on Table 26!) made our visit all the more special. The service we received was exceptional. Thank you. If you like fine dining but in a casual, relaxed setting, a visit to The Lock Up is highly recommended.

We've been looking at coming to the Lock Up for awhile now. So as part of our "weeknight out January" we came for their Steak Night (two rumps, chips & bottle of wine) and I wish we'd headed over here before. The place is well lit and has a good atmosphere - some nice big round tables for groups. The Steaks were cooked perfectly, very tender & tasty, came with rocket pickled red onion and a decent portion of chunky chips. A small jug of tasty peppercorn sauce completed the plate. We had a bottle of organic Tempranillo which went down a treat with the Steaks. All of the desserts sounded pretty tasty, we plumped for cranachan cheesecake & a dark chocolate orange fondant. They dissappoint either, totally delicious. The staff were all chilled out riendly & nice, environment was good and food was excellent - we'll be back that's for sure

What a great experience, no hesitation in giving a 5 star review. And here's why. Ok, it was father's day and my daughter suggested this place after visiting with the boyfriend. We started with a special drink of the day, a raspberry smash, plenty of rum and a raspberry compote type of mixture. A local ipa beer accompanied the duck starter that was shared, which did taste more of chicken than duck! Very well presented tho. The main, as it was a Sunday, was a roast, beef was my choice. A couple of nice thick slices of rare beef, the beef shin rague was exceptional. With a big portion of kale and parsnip, and a smooth mash in a rich gravey. The individual Yorkshire pudding was huge to boot and very tasty. I will be recommending this establishment to all. Hope to be back soon.

Great quality food well priced in family run restaurant. Had lunch with 6 plates of tapas, dessert each, one coffee and one cocktail/soft drink for just over £30/head. Used to come here regularly pre pandemic and before we had 2 kids, but just came back for tapas lunch and dessert. All excellent. Particularly the mackerel, heritage tomatoes, the crushed white bean and roasted garlic dip with toasted focaccia, and the oil dip with the toasted sourdough and olives. Vanilla panna cotta with blackcurrant sorbet and chocolate torte with slated caramel ice cream were both excellent too. Friendly and speedy service in a nice setting given location next to busy road in old small garage.

I visited The Lock Up on Sunday for a roast, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had! This was my third time at the restaurant, and it was by far the best experience yet. I came this time as a Coeliac and was absolutely over the moon with the gluten-free options available—both for mains and desserts. I was especially thrilled to have a Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese, which are such rare treats for Coeliacs. I had the beef, which was cooked perfectly—tender and not at all chewy. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. I really appreciated the care they took. Highly recommend—especially if you're looking for a great gluten-free Sunday roast!
