Seven-Star Review for The Lock Up, Bristol
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you're on the hunt for an extraordinary dining experience, look no further than The Lock Up in Bristol! As someone who enjoys exploring new places each week, I have to say that this quirky gem exceeded all my expectations.
Initially, I was a bit apprehensive, given its location on a bustling high street next to a busy road. However, stepping inside felt like entering a different world entirely. The atmosphere is a delightful mix of trendy and eclectic, creating an inviting space that instantly puts you at ease.
Now, let’s talk about the roast! As a fan of traditional pub fare, I was thrilled to find that The Lock Up elevates the classic roast to a whole new level. The flavors are bold, the presentation is beautiful, and each bite is a testament to the care and creativity that goes into their dishes.
The staff also deserves special mention. They are not only friendly but genuinely passionate about providing an exceptional dining experience. Their recommendations were spot-on, and their enthusiasm made our visit even more enjoyable.
In a world where many dining establishments can feel cookie-cutter, The Lock Up stands out as a beacon of what a modern pub should be. I can't recommend it highly enough! Whether you're a local or just passing through Bristol, make sure to stop by. Trust me, you...
Read moreBristol has a fantastic food scene with heaps of amazing restaurants, bars and cafes. One that I can highly recommend is The Lock Up in Redfield. Serving modern British food, it's a gem of a place.
My partner and I dined here last Saturday evening and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the experience. From the cocktails to the food, to the service, everything was just perfect. We both went for the chargrilled beef sirloin, which looked stunning and was delicious and surprisingly filling.
Aside from the creative menu and scrumptious food, what sets The Lock Up apart from other places is the people who work there. The staff are welcoming, attentive and friendly. In fact, our lovely server (sorry, we didn't get her name, we were on Table 26!) made our visit all the more special. The service we received was exceptional. Thank you.

Read moreWow. What a find (well.. what a recommendation, I should say) A cosy but spacious gem right on the main road. Went for Sunday lunch today and it did not disappoint. Between the 2 of us we had 1 beef and 1 lamb + 1 extra portion of roast spuds. I’ll start by saying that the extra spuds were not needed, at all. The portions were very generous, and for a nice change, it wasn’t all carrots and over cooked broccoli! The veg on its own would have made a lovely meal, the plate was covered in colour. The meat was also plentiful and served just how I like it (rare, but cooked and warm). It was very juicy, nicely pink and full of flavour. On both the beef and the lamb, the meat was dished up in pair of styles. The beef came as 2 fat brisket steaks and a meaty pulled beef Ragu. The lamb however came off the bone, formed into block like thing and some lamb crackling. It really was very good. Service and cost...
