In search for the perfect county pub in the West Midlands, my partner and I decided to visit the Barnet Green Inn based on its positive Google reviews. Upon arriving, our first impression of the pub was nothing short of impressive. The architecture is simply breathtaking, an impressive country building, a massive structure that exudes an air of grandeur. It had a convenient parking area with plenty of space which made parking stress-free. The interior of the pub was tastefully decorated, warm, and had great fireplace with several comfortable seating areas. All the female hostesses were professional, accommodating, warm, attentive, and welcoming, reflecting the excellent training that they have been given . I ordered a glass of white wine which was served promptly . The wine itself was crisp and refreshing, just beautiful! The menu has a wide range of food choices. I ordered pan fried seabass and my partner got chicken and chips with some vegetables. The food when it arrived was large and beautifully presented. My partner loved his chicken and chips dish. Sadly it’ s from this point on that things went slightly sideways for me . My pan-fried seabass dish was awful. I was served with two pieces of fish. The first piece which I managed to eat , was over salted, and the second piece after a bite, left my tongue tingling and itching indicating that it was going off . Disappointing!! Then we had an experience with a male host which was quiet strange. He approached our table to ask if we needed anything else but only addressed my partner completely ignoring me. There is always one who lets down the team 🙄. The toilets were modern , stocked with all the necessary supplies. It is situated on the ground floor, which made them easily accessible, sadly they were very untidy, with loo roll strewn across the floor in all the stalls. Now the pub was busy , so it’s likely there wasn’t time for staff to attend to the loo . Overall, I have mixed feelings about this pub, and while I wish I could give it better ratings, I am unable to overlook the poor food quality served . Food quality is of utmost importance and should never be compromised. Apart from ruining the dinning experience, it could pose health risks for patrons. I regret not bringing the bad fish situation to the attention of one of the hostesses, who I believe would have rectified the situation. I sincerely hope that the management of this establishment will direct their attention to improving the quality of their food, just as they have evidently invested in training their hostesses. In the meantime , our quest for the perfect pub in the West Midlands continues.

On a perfect Sunday morning, with the warm temperature adding to the charm, my experience at Barnt Green Inn was nothing short of delightful. We started by enjoying a drink outside, soaking in the pleasant weather before indulging in our Sunday roast feast. Opting for the trio of roast plate, which featured chicken, beef, and pork belly, was a decision I didn't regret. Each meat was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor and accompanied by all the traditional trimmings. The portion size was generous, leaving me feeling satisfied but not overly stuffed. Service throughout our meal was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring that our experience was nothing short of exceptional. The interior decor added to the ambiance, with beautiful touches that elevated the dining experience. Overall, Barnt Green Inn proved to be a top-notch Sunday roast destination. From the delicious food to the welcoming atmosphere and excellent service, it exceeded all expectations. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to treat yourself to a Sunday roast at Barnt Green Inn – you won't be disappointed.

I'll start with when we arrived they need more staff serving at the bar because people who sit outside are ordering food so could do with 2 seperate queues for food or just drinks. We had a table booked inside & the waitress was nice & got our order quickly. The food was disappointing, we had fish & chips. The fish was just about ok but the chips were dry & overcooked. The mint/pea puree & tartare sauce tasted strange. We then decided to sit outside with our drinks on a lovely sunny day but this got ruined by wasps! Not sure if there is a nest on the premises but they were around every table! Also the chairs & tables could do with a good clean. So we went back inside to finish our drinks & then left. Overall, the premises looked lovely from the outside but could do with a good clean, more staff required & a new chef. It's a shame we didn't enjoy our visit because it's in a nice area. No where near as good as The Lyttleton Arms which we use regular as part of the premium country pubs collection.

Visited the Barnt Green Inn for my mums birthday. Arrived for a 7.30 pm dinner, asked what drinks we wanted immediately which was a great start, from then on the service was down hill.

Took a while for the waitresses to come back to ask for starters , Long delays between courses. We had to ask several times to get the waitress attention to order more drinks. At the end of the mains we were sat with dirty plates for far too long , when they collected the plates no one asked if we wanted desserts or more drinks they just said did you want anything else which made us feel that they wanted to get rid of us as the restaurant was quiet at this point. We had to ask them to come and take our order as no one seemed to be paying attention to the table. My mum wanted a pudding and we wanted some drinks . The waitress had showed me there was some dessert wine and went off to get me one and a cocktail for someone else on my table. The pudding came. We were waiting wondering where the two drinks were, the waitress finally came back and said there was no dessert wine after all, there was a long period of time between her telling me there was some to telling me there was none and the other guest asked where her cocktail was, we ended up cancelling the cocktail because we had already waited and the waitress had confirmed they had not even started the cocktail. We had a party of 6, we were there 7.30-10.45, we had 2 courses except for my mum who had the dessert so 3 courses for her. This time shows the amount of wasted time waiting around. I have worked in catering and we could provide silver service and a 3 course meal for over 100 people in 2 hours. The food was actually really nice but service was a huge let it down. The staff themselves were friendly but not up to scratch in checking in with the table. To top the evening off when the bill came, which was the most prompt interaction we had with the staff they had added a £25 service charge . We are not opposed to paying service charges but due to the poor service we had we declined to pay. Really...

If I could give 0 or even minus stars I would. Just visited here for a drink and finally found a table that was free but no chairs, so pulled a chair from another table to sit down exactly how every other customer did hence why the chairs were unevenly organised on tables, but two members of staff came over and told me to put the chair back as they needed it for a booking bearing in mind this is outdoor seating and outdoor furniture so not your normal indoor table setting. I asked if they could just grab another chair for the booking or find me chairs for this table as there were no chairs whatsoever and the response I got was ‘you have to find them yourself, these are needed for a booking’. I asked again, if they could grab me a chair or show me where they are and I got the same response back from both ladies that I have to find it myself. So I walked away and left, as I was leaving, the members of staff found some chairs for the empty table and put them there ready for whoever comes next which is exactly what I had asked for but they chose not to do it for me even though I had asked politely. Two ways to describe those staff - Racist and Terrible Customer Service. Note to the restaurant, please educate your staff or dismiss them because they were nothing but rude and racist. I went to another pub down the road and I had the complete opposite experience. I will definitely be spreading the word to not visit Barnt Green, worst experience ever and I was only there for 5 minutes! It is the staffs job to have chairs out for each table and if a customer is missing a chair, to provide this for them, not tell them to go grab one themselves especially in such a...
