"Cofton on The Green: A Perfect Train Trip Destination" Our quest for exceptional coffee shops and restaurants led us to this gem in Barnt Green, recommended by a friend who clearly knows quality when they see it. The sunny weather made it perfect for a spontaneous train journey from Four Oaks, and after an hour's pleasant ride plus a brief three-minute walk from the station, we found ourselves settling into a lovely window table.

We ordered their enticing sausage and bacon on flatbread, paired with iced Americanos enhanced with hazelnut syrup. The flatbread proved to be a revelation - the flavours were so perfectly balanced that I'm glad I resisted the temptation to add any additional condiments. The coffee was equally impressive, with the hazelnut syrup providing just the right touch of sweetness to complement the smooth Americano base.

The excellent service matched the quality of the food and drinks, while the lovely interior décor created a welcoming atmosphere that made our visit feel special. The combination of accessible location, outstanding food, great coffee, and attentive service has definitely earned Cofton on The Green a regular spot on our dining rotation.

I suspect we'll be making this train journey quite frequently...

On my first visit, on Friday, I stood at the bar for 10 minutes the staff behind the bar just completely ignored me talking to each other and doing other things. When I eventually spoke up and asked for service please I was told by a guy “You have to order from the front of the bar, not the left side of the bar” ( where was I stood). The place only had 10 customers so we’re not even busy. There was no sign saying where to stand/not stand to order! Moreover the guy with the thinning longish brown hair didn’t even turn around to look at me when he told me I was standing in the ‘wrong place’. How rude. The staff just carried on as if I wasn’t there. What poor attitudes. It must be aweful to work there. You could sense a huge negative atmosphere. If you want a happy, positive, welcoming place, this isn’t it. If you do go, see if you think the place is clean. Just...

Great local cafe, eatery and bar. Service was really good, food although a little limited has some great options and was very tasty. The fresh pastries are particularly good 👌

Only downside for us was the acoustics really need addressing, we went Friday morning at 10am there were two full tables and two tables with just one person sitting at them. The noise levels were so loud it was actually more peaceful to sit outside with the sound of the passing traffic (which was actually a nice space), and this is at a quarter or fifth of its capacity. It would be worth investing in some sound absorbing acoustic panels, and some soft furnishings to lower that noise level. Having to shout at 10am is a little much.

Great place, just be prepared for...

Cofton pizza is by far THE BEST! To have them serving up pizzas in a local establishment is a dream. We’ve been for both pizza and breakfast. The pizza is sensational. Light, flavourful crust, high quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. For the breakfast, we both had the breakfast in the folded pizza base, but will try a plated one next time as we missed the beans/tomato element, which doesn’t come with what we ordered. It was lovely nevertheless and despite being in a pizza base, not too heavy at all. Service is friendly and welcoming and of the sun is shining it’s great to sit on the decking out front. We will be back again soon for cocktails.

Cofton Pizza is one of the best pizza places and a must try for any pizza lover. It’s a very small and busy place. So do consider booking. Although I opted for take away once as no tables available and 40 minutes later they still had unoccupied tables with a reserved sign. Family friendly environment with high chairs for little ones and it’s a dog friendly place too. The service is order at bar.
