Stayed over for the weekend. Room was okay, bed was hard, found a fair few hairs in our bed. I was reassured by the staff the bedding was clean and had been washed. Nice staff, helped when needed (if you could find somone). We did put the do not disturb sing up, but somone still tried to come in to clean..
Booked a table for 7pm, orderd at 7:10. Recived our dinner around 8:10. We did get told there was around an hour's wait when we ordered, but we would of appreciated being told there was 3 big tables and it would be a long wait when we booked (at 5pm the same day).
First lady that served us was pleasent, but seemed very much under pressure.. Waited 10 minutes for a gluten free menu, had to go back and ask again. lady with a blue shirt on (short hair) really didn't want to be there, very obrupt and cold.
Dinner was okay... other half enjoyed his burger, my chicken was dry but edible...
Next morning we stopped for breakfast. We had the pick of 4 tables, all dirty. Had to ask the lady to clean our table as she was putting our teas down (My tea plate was dirty). My breakfast was okay (eggs needed cooking a little more as the whites were very runny). Other half couldn't get his fork into his black pudding and his bacon was burnt. (We did say something about the black pudding and bacon, thay gave us a discount, but didn't seem bothered.
We really wanted to try somwhere new to eat the next night, but it was late when we got back. We both had a burger, it looked really good when it come out. I found a thin light hair in my burger, other half found a big thick black hair on his dinner plate.. We didn't touch our food and luckily we hadn't paid, though we did get offered a refund.. Lady and the chef sitting at the "Staff table" next to the bar - nothing professional about their manners or conversation. Young girl working on the bar was lovely! We went back to our room and ordered Dominos (they were good by the way)
Its a shame, the place has so much potential. We often eat at Marstons pubs and haven't had any problems before!
I wouldn't recommend this place and we will not...
Read moreThe lady well I wouldn't call her that. But she was quite rude on checking in. Said we hadn't booked the guests that we did, even though I showed it her on my booking, said it wasn't a problem but still said it in a sarcastic way. On return to the room on the 21st at around 8pm, as we came back early as the children were tired after attending my daughters wedding, the key card wouldn't work. There was none on reception the sign said to call the number if needed which I did over 9 times, there was no answer, so went to the attached restaurant )which i shall give a review on shortly)they gave us another key card. Cannot fault the rooms at all. They had everything we needed, beds were very comfy rooms clean and warm. The attached restaurant. So many problems.on the 3 times we visited. 1st time approx 6pm we went for food. Which we waited a very long time for. Even though it was quiet inside. The Orders came out wrong and the serving staff were very rude. The manager or person. In charge apologised and offered free breakfast for the next morning. Breakfast came, different member of staff. Said she had a message to say we had 20% off our orders and free continental breakfast which was nice of her. Day 3. 22nd. We came again for breakfast. There were 3 other customers in the restaurant and 3 adults 3 children in our party. Got the orders completely wrong. Didn't even take for 1 breakfast so we ordered a continental to speed up our time there, there was nothing but 3 croissants that had been there for some time, so I decided to wait for some fresh ones, whilst waiting the waiter brought out a full English breakfast theat was not ordered as I said i didn't want it, she said it was on the house for the mix up. The plate was dirty the egg was uncooked. Couldn't eat it. The restaurant itself was dated with ripped seats and no disabled access from the back of the restaurant from the hotel rooms which was okay at the time as it was quiet but wouldn't have been okay if the seating area was full as our party included someone in...
Read moreI stayed over at Meadow Farm for three nights, it was literally near my friends house so was the perfect location.|The receptionist very friendly and helpful, after going up to my room I realised there was no iron and ironing board and I had slept in with no time to iron my clothes. this wasn't a problem and there was one waiting for me after I had returned from the supermarket.|The room was very clean and the bedding clean and crisp, bed itself was sooo comfortable, pillows so amazingly comfy and I slept so soundly. Plenty of room for clothing and reasonable size wardrobe with hangers. TV good reception, two electical sockets. Deep bath and excellent shower, taps were a little confusing and was twiddling them a while before I cottoned onto how to switch from shower to bath and hot and cold |There was no traffic noise and felt I was in the countryside, hotel surrounded by trees, good sizeable car park. |I was late returning one night, totally unplanned and could not access my room which I saw as good security, there is always help on hand and after a quick phone call to the night porter was in my room in no time. | I had run out of milk in my room one morning (I drink gallons of tea) the lady who cleaned the room was just outside in the corridor. Samantha was very pleasant and was more than helpful to give me a fresh supply of milk. I had planned a relaxing afternoon prior to meeting my friends one day and it wasn't a problem to skip the cleaning but supplied clean towels for me.|I hadn't tried the restaraunt but saw plenty of folk using it, I had gone for breakfast and staff very friendly and helpful, I have diet restrictions plus one extra one at the time and they were so accommodating. Thanks for good stay|Will...
