Review July 2025
We returned to The Beefeater in Redditch and once again had a brilliant evening (great food, plenty of laughs, and good service). The star of the show? Cara, our server for the evening, who was friendly, professional, and downright hilarious.
We started off with a great mix of starters that hit the spot. For mains, one of us initially ordered the chicken and ribs, but unfortunately, it wasn’t quite right and had to be sent back. Not ideal, of course, but what could have been an awkward moment was handled brilliantly by Cara. She dealt with it swiftly, professionally, and with her trademark good humour, helping us swap it for the lasagne with no fuss at all.
It’s rare to come across someone who can turn a kitchen hiccup into a completely stress-free moment, but Cara did exactly that. She kept the mood light, made sure everything else was perfect, and somehow managed to keep us laughing throughout. Her service was so warm and attentive that the little blip honestly didn’t take away from the evening one bit.
The lasagne ended up being delicious, and the rest of the food (including a baconeater burger) was exactly what you’d hope for: comforting, tasty, and satisfying. The atmosphere was relaxed, the vibe welcoming, and thanks to Cara, the whole evening felt easy and enjoyable from start to finish.
In short, even with a minor issue, this was still a five-star experience. Cara’s sense of humour, professionalism, and care turned a simple meal into something genuinely memorable. If you’re heading to Beefeater Redditch, hope you get Cara - she’s the best part of the menu.

Hold onto your funny bones and prepare for a bellyful of laughter at The Beefeater in Redditch! Anna, our dynamic server, and her trusty work wife were a comedic dream team that had us in stitches throughout the evening.
The food? The Beefeater burger was nothing short of exceptional. And those onion rings? I suspect they're secretly laced with addictive substances because we couldn't stop munching on those golden hoops of joy!
Now, let's get to the stars of the show—Anna and her work wife. Anna's energy and enthusiasm were infectious, and her vibrant personality lit up the entire restaurant. She effortlessly danced around the tables, balancing trays and making witty remarks, all while sporting a smile that could brighten the dullest of days. Her work wife, as they called themselves, was no less amazing, seamlessly complementing Anna's charisma and ensuring that every guest was well taken care of.
Anna’s knowledge of the menu and ability to upsell genuine recommendations to us really added to the whole experience and this was done whilst creating a really relaxed, friendly atmosphere for us to enjoy our evening.
In a nutshell, The Beefeater in Redditch was wonderful. Anna and her hilarious partner-in-crime turn an ordinary trip to the pub into a joyous occasion. Book a table, bring your appetite, and get ready to be served with a side dish of genuine friendliness (from all the staff we encountered). You won't be disappointed....
Read moreFor the first time in forever the car park was virtually empty when we arrived to the point we thought they may be closed. 😲 Monica; the manager, showed us to our table with the usual friendly welcome and broad smile. ☺️ Skye; our server, took our Drinks order and promptly brought them to the table whilst we decided what to eat. 🍻 When we were ready, Skye took our Starters and Mains order. Our Starters were out in 15-20min and we ordered more Drinks, which, again, were on the table promptly. For Starter I had ordered the Loaded Nachos, which were deliciously crisp with smooth Guacamole, tangy Tomato Salsa and cool fresh Sour Cream. 😋 We'd all finished our Starters within half an hour and Skye cleared our plates away. It was another 15-20min when Skye, Monica and Corinne brought out our Mains and sides. I had ordered Fillet Steak; Medium to Well Done, with a Diane sauce. The Steak is served with Petit Pois, grilled half of a Tomato and a Flat Cap Mushroom with which I selected Loaded Chips with a Honey and Mustard sauce and added a side order of Onion Rings. The Steak was cooked to perfection; slightly crisp on the outside where it had been seared on the grill and sweet and juicy in the middle with a thin ribbon of pink running through the centre. The rich Earthy flavour of the Diane sauce complimented the Steak beautifully. I commented to both my family and Skye that it was possibly the best Steak I've ever eaten. 🥰 It took approximately an hour to eat our Main course. Skye cleared our plates away and took our Dessert order, which arrived in 15-20min. I ordered the New York Cheesecake which was delicious; rich and creamy on a delightfully crisp biscuit base and served with slices of Banana, Cream and Iced Cream, and drizzled with Toffee sauce. 😋 The Bill came to £≈290.00 for a table of Nine. That equates to a top quality three course meal with drinks for approximately £30 a head; excellent value. I threw in a £20 tip for Skye for her attentiveness and professionalism and £20 for the delicious food the kitchen staff produced (I wanted to give the kitchen £40 but ran out of cash!). 👍🏻 The team at Beefeater, Redditch North, are excellent and I highly recommend you have a meal there...
Read moreI visited here 8 to12 months back for breakfast with 6 family members. They were short on bacon and black pudding. I then asked why the trays were empty and was told: 'We have run out of both!'
On Sept 8th 2024, we booked online for Sunday lunch, a table for 2 at 3:00 pm. We received the confirmation for Sunday lunch - all booked. We arrived at 2:50 pm, we were seated and given menus. Nowhere on the menu did it mention their choice of Sunday lunch. I then asked the server what the choice was, she went over to the manager, then came back and said:
'we're not serving Sunday lunch now'.
When I asked why did you take the booking for Sunday lunch then? I asked to speak with the manager, because I can see you are still, in fact, serving Sunday lunch.'
Manager comes to the table, we go through the problem and he says:
'We have all the veg and potatoes but we have run out of all meats! But, we can offer you a chicken off our normal menu and put it with some veg or you can have beef?' You just said no meats? 'Well, yeah, technically it would not be beef, but a steak with Yorkshire pudding and a chicken off the normal menu - together with veg.' A sort of, half thrown together meal you mean?'
When I mentioned the time before about the bacon and black pudding, he said: 'No, could not happen, we always have bacon and black pudding.' I then assured him it did happen a there were 6 other people there in our party and that is exactly why we now go to Becketts farm and not here for breakfast!
This place needs to get its act together and provide the service and food it advertises. "Sirloin steak with Yorkshire pudding?" All this from a manager, are you for real?
March 18th @ 3:30 pm Decided to give it one more try. Steak was so undercooked it was mooing. The steak then had to go back and be cooked further. Can you believe they did not have any PEPPERCORN sauce? They'd run out. There's a Sainsburys 50 metres from this place! The place is a joke and so poorly run!
