Posting a review regarding The Taverna - outside brew street! Iām unable to find a place where I can review 3 of us were here yesterday. We were served without a warm welcome. No āhello, how are you doing?ā We ordered a can of pimms and my partner asked the young man if he had any cucumber etc to which he almost laughed and said āna they can do that insideā - simply no above and beyond service at all. He could have replied-āoh Iām so sorry I know pimms normally comes with fruit but they can do that inside for you if youād likeā or could have offered to grab some fruit for us. No communication skills from this man at all, he was actually too busy on his phone for the majority of the time, even when serving us. My partner and I then ordered the Halloumi wrap x2 and a large spicy chips. - The wraps were Ā£8.95 each and both wraps came with 3-4 chips inside. Not even remotely good for your money. The wrap itself tasted pretty good and the tzatziki was nice. At this point my partner overheard the man saying the reason he was late to work was due to watching a game and we presumed he was tired but still no excuse to not be nice and be non welcoming to customers. Our friend asked for a shandy to which 3/4 of the pint was lemonade. He also ordered the skewer box and we were all incredibly shocked when he brought it over. One skewer, two slices of bread and some very small amounts of salad. He was also told that the tzatziki does not come with the box and he would have had to pay for it. I believe this box was in the region of ~Ā£10 and we all couldnāt have been more shocked at how little was inside this box. Multiple times we saw the man on the grill eating and quite frankly we were just so disappointed with this visit. I understand that young people take on these hospitality jobs around university etc but I have also done the same and I never once treated people with no respect or care. Just complete your job and be kind, itās really that simple. If we were greeted with a little friendly communication we may have not been so annoyed with this entire day. We spent roughly Ā£60 and donāt feel itās fair that we paid this for the lack of effort that was put into our time there. We did notice that another young male took over from the prior male at around 4pm ish and he seemed to genuinely be happy and welcoming towards customers and was smiling a lot (shout out to you- we liked this)
We would like a refund but unsure if that would...

The location is greatā¦The service is fast, the food quality is excellent and everything feels welcoming thanks to the friendly and smiling staff! The atmosphere is relaxed, with a lovely view of the water sports area ā a perfect spot to unwind after a walk or outdoor activities. The menu offers tasty choices for everyone, and the burgers are especially good ā juicy, well-seasoned, and fresh. Coffee and drinks are also great. The deli bar looks so fresh and delicious! Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had my 60th birthday celebrations at Brewstreet Cafe Waltham Cross in May. We had over 150 people who joined us, family members from New York, Trinidad, Liverpool, Dominica, York and UK to name a few. Everyone commented on how lovely the venue, food and staff were, I couldn't have dreamed for such a special occasion of celebrations, our guests (and us) didn't want it to end. I would like to thank the Manager and staff for making my 60th so special I will never forget it, especially with all the wonderful pictures from the photo booth. If you haven't been to this venue, it's time you visit and check out their website as Summer events have started, always a fun night to be...
