Quality place for many reasons

Price - considering its a smokehouse and premium cuts of meat, the prices are very reasonable. Even if you go all out (more food than you can eat) it's £25 to £30 per head. Or £10-15 if you keep it simple. The fact you can get premium cut Burgers and chips for around £12 you can't go wrong. Got fed up of seeing other smoke places charge upto £20 - £25 just for burger and chips. I would recommend going all out on your first visit, platter, Burgers the whole works - that way you know what you fancy for next visits. All of it taste great as leftover for a nice sandwich filling.

Quality/Taste - it literally is exactly what it says on the tin. They get the meats directly from the butchers (next door) so you know you ain't getting frozen or cheap meats. Everything always cooked to perfection and the table bbq sauce is 10/10, elevates all the food. Food comes seasoned but not saucy which is great, allows you to sauce it yourself how you like it

Customer Service - Always serving you with a smile on their face and food is served pretty quick. The place is cool and clean, usually when there's sauces on the table in other places it's always sticky or gunky all over the lid but these guys keep it fresh. That attention to detail doesn't go unnoticed ;)

Location - plenty of free parking in the estate just behind them. Not many halal places around waltham cross/cheshunt so this place certainly seals the deal as the best halal spot in the area.

[[[[ EDIT : ironically, the gentleman I spoke to was the claimed owner of the business who himself said he couldn’t certify it. More so that he himself was unsure. (At THAT time, things could have changed by then) I decided to leave that part out initially to not cause a ruckus but here we are. Anybody can pay £30 for a halal certificate. Good for you. If it’s halal, great! الحمد لله and ان شاء الله you’ll grow more - but if it isn’t, Allah is watching. And correct, it’s better I go elsewhere more respectable. Good day sirs]]]]

MUSLIMS.. Listen, I ate there a few times being naive thinking it’s authentically halal but after a little digging.. I’m not sure it is. They’re not sure it is. They don’t know if they’re actually halal !! They “say it” but anybody can.. so I stopped eating there a while back. If it’s certified halal board approved meat then that would obviously be different.

As for those who wants a food review.. it’s decent. It’s certainly not American smoke house type (if there are those who think it might be) with apple wood or cherry wood etc tastes with delicate deep Smokey flavours but more like straight BIG-K charcoal smoke taste. And extremely big-K tasting it is… when it isn’t busy you can expect your food to have a better temperature but when it was busy my meats were served tepid (around room temp)

Like I said.. it was decent on all visits but that unsureness of being truly halal is a big no no for me.

The only reason why I've given it 4 stars is because the customer service is not good, they don't come and check if the food is good they just bring it to the table and leave. I had to help myself for empty bowls from the side of the seating area as there wasn't anywhere to put the chicken bones. They don't come to take payment we waited and because no one came so we went outside where they make the food and paid there, its not made clear if its a self serve kind of place and where you need to pay and if you need to pay before or after. However, the flavours of the food was amazing, we ordered a portion of smoked garlic wings and a portion of smoked mango habanero wings the flavours were amazing they just needed to cook a tiny longer so the skins would crisp up in stead of tasting fatty but that's just my preference and the smoke flavour was brilliant. The chips were nice and crispy and was a decent size portion. We ordered burnt ends which again flavours were amazing but the fat on them was abit off putting as it hadn't rendered down, it came with a big portion of coleslaw and that was great. We also ordered the loaded burger again the flavours were excellent but the portion size was smaller than expected, this also came with chips so you don't need to purchase separately. If it wasn't for the bad customer service I would have given 5 stars. I am very satisfied with the food but not so much the customer service.
