Crocodile — Restaurant in Broxbourne

Visited as a family again today as it is a local pub. The last few visits have been slightly unpleasant however, today has made us realise we should not waste our money here again. We were initially served by the gentleman with the long hair, he took our drinks order and left before we could order some food. During this time another costumer was waiting to be served and asked the other guy behind the bar if we had been served or not. I told them that we have only been able to order drinks and wanted to order food - we were completely ignored by this guy who then continued to serve the other lady. Upon ordering and having my first cocktail which tasted of nothing but water I asked for the second cocktail which was supposed to be a frozen strawberry daiquiri. It was simply crushed ice with hardly any flavour unfortunately. This time I decided to go and ask for it to be changed to a normal strawberry daiquiri. I waited at the bar and was completely ignored by the bald guy. I then had the initial gentleman approach me who was then told by the bald guy that he should serve the other customers and that he would ‘deal with me’. I was not told a single word or asked what the issue was. He put the strawberry daiquiri in front of me without a word which was very surprising. I told him that he hasn't even asked me what I wanted which he replied to by saying that his colleague had told him and I said no because I didn’t even get a chance to tell your friend what the issue was. The gentleman with the long hair also said that I haven't told him anything. I told the bald guy that he could have asked me what the issue was or at least spoke a word while giving me the new cocktail he made and didn’t even get an answer again. He seemed very rude and racist overall with his actions. I was later told by another worker that he was named Lesley and was one of the managers. I wouldn't have expected a member of the management team to act this way. Browsing through some of the unpleasant reviews here, I can see exactly who they are referring to. So we met up with friends for lunch here yesterday. This was our first outing since the March 2020 lockdown. We were even more excited as we could take our fur babies with to the pub as they advertised as "dog friendly". We were all having a really great time, nice food and awesome company, staff were really friendly, we even said we'd leave a great review due to the good experience until the latter part of our time there. There was another table that had brought their fur baby and each time that dog barked both our friends and our dog would bark..at one point my hubby had to take our fur baby outside as the one staff member kept coming us saying customers are complaining. This is supposed to be a dog friendly pub but clearly isn't! If people don't like the odd sound of a dog barking then don't go to a so-called dog friendly pub!! This is clearly false advertising!! We were made to feel so uncomfortable by both the staff member and a passer-by customer which was also not called for! If the customer had a problem they should have taken it up with the pubs management and not us the customers directly!! We had just ordered a round of drinks as well and then had to rush it off just to get out of that horrible experience! They are dogs after all..are we supposed to tell them to be quiet?!? If it were a baby crying, would you say to that parent to keep your baby quiet?? Disgusting and definitely won't be coming here again!! We also spent over £100.00 and do you think we got any compensation?!? No! Just made to feel angry and disappointed!! You're definitely NOT...
